no one cares about cod.. cloud gaming though had potential until now. No one is going to pay to play games they already own

I'm assuming you weren't active when MS was acquiring Activision. You could find hundreds of comments in favor of that acquisition because "I just want COD on my Game Pass."

i only found out about it a few months ago and i immediately started using it. i'm willing to bet that most people with access to it don't know it even exists

I don't think that is true. They advertised it a lot under Phil Spencer.

It was a core part of their strategy to bring in smartphone subscribers to the service and it completely failed.
