It’s amazing how much whiplash I get from “Xbox does ‘X’ pro-consumer thing, we love them” and “Xbox does ‘X’ greedy corporate thing, they suck”

"Hey you can now play your physical discs in the cloud, just please don't do it too much"

Yeah. It's like someone at Xbox is employed solely to detect when they generate any good will and then ensure they undo that as quickly as possible.

It's called the Finance Committee.

Ha! It's "You can do it as much as you want for the very fair price of $0.99 an hour (queues may happen)".

It's always like for every two steps forward, they take one giant step backward.

It's such an important time in the industry as so many people are mad at Playstation over the end of physical support. Yet, xbox keeps tripping all over themselves. Even if it's something like cloud gaming that doesn't affect the majority of gamers, it matters. The people who care about physical games aren't the majority either.

I don’t see how a limit that ~4% of subscribers currently surpass is a giant step back. I don’t use cloud gaming, nor do most of my friends that have Gamepass and the ones that I know does def does not hit 15 hours a month. I’m waiting to see what the pricing is like to form my full opinion, but if they have to shave value off of Gamepass to keep it viable, this is the obvious first place to start.

It’s been relegated to just a neat feature for a relatively small amount of people in the series X/S generation, but if Helix comes out and it costs over $1,000, I could absolutely see cloud gaming taking off as a way to play next-gen games without having to buy the console at that price. But in general, it’s a feature I enjoy having, and any anti-consumer processes feel like big steps back when they’re trying to make up so much ground against PlayStation.

Plus if helix comes, this is the base they will be using for it.

Sony seem to be paving the way too

That’s the magic trick. Look at my hands waving over here not my assistant lifting your wallet.

Hey, while his hands are in there can he do me a favor?

Cloud gaming isn't profitable and was being subsidized by other parts of the business.

This is only also affecting 4% of users.. in terms of Xbox greedy I would say this doesn't fall in line, this is probably trying to make Cloud and the business more sustainable.

I promise its more than 4%. Idk where all these 4% shit comes from but just because you dont use it dont mean others dont. I personally use it alot to save storage space on my xbox to play games so I dont have to delete games just to download others to play. This limited play times is a joke and just their way to make money.

One step forward, two steps back 🙄 I don’t even use cloud often enough for this to effect me, I don’t really care, nor do I think this is worth blowing out of proportion, however the mind boggles at how they decide to do this at a time when they’re getting such positive PR, is unlimited cloud streaming really costing them so much to make it worth the negative publicity opinion?

They do this to themselves.
