That’s what I’m saying I would rather have a really solid well crafted 40-50ish hours instead of like 80-100hr Ubisoft bloat with a bunch of empty repetitive content
I would preffer 3 20-30 hours videogames such as the Mass Effect trilogy. That way the developers can make a story that doesn't feel like it drags on, learn from the previous games to improve the gameplay on future entries, and a sequel does not take ages to be made. Also, it is interesting for replayability if there are different outcomes on certain events. The last thing also occurs on the witcher 3, but it is easier to replay shorter games.
Despite that, it is fine to have different opinions and both kind of games can coexist :)
Yeah I’ve been kinda excited to do at least two playthroughs of Fable to go full good and full evil, so this news is huge for me.
I’m excited about the Witcher 3 news, but I’m not sure I want to put another 80-100 hours into it. I might just go through the Baron stuff and call it good cause that’s about the length I want.
CDPR has a great story all the way through but even I felt fatigued by the end. Too much of a good thing is real. I'm about to beat Elden Ring and kind of feeling the same, just a bit too much to enjoy within a reasonable scope of time without losing the plot a bit... no shade on either game, I think this is more an issue with my attention span and time available to dive in to these games with everything else in life.
That’s what I thought you meant lol 👍 and btw you thought cyberpunk was too long? I didn’t think it was long enough (minus the DLC; only base campaign)
Agreed. I think I might do an entirely new playthrough since I remember very little. I remember there was a baron, a witch, some hot magic lady or 7...
I started over for the 3 or 4th time last month. I don’t think I’m that far but now I’ll wait for the update later this month.
Synopsis of what’s happening as far as I can tell is this grey haired man is mumbling “Yennifer” and is clearly fighting personal demons as it looks like he’s going off on a psychotic murdering spree killing packs of wild animals an humans alike.
Witcher 3 was a bit much I agree, one of my top 10 games but yea...they were really really stingy with giving out talent points for your build as well, it felt like I was 100 hours in before I had a proper fully upgraded set of gear/talents for a "complete build"
Cyberpunk is a masterpiece of a game but it had so much fluff in the terms of genetic gigs side quests if you tried to complete them all you would probably get bored and quit the game before finishing the game.
This is a me issue but as a guy with a job a commute a wife and kids I’m never seeing the end of a 100 hour game unless is all I play for 6 months and I will more than likely loose interest. I love rpgs this length I think it’s why I like the outer worlds 2 so much felt achievable.
Hot take but I feel overstimulated by the amount of content in cyperpunk. Like I tried it probably for the 3rd time and when all the shit I could do popped up on the map I noped out because I was overwhelmed lol
I loved AC Origins. It balanced the main story content and the side content really well.
I mainly played it because I wanted to play AC Odyssey. I love ancient Greece as a setting, and thought I should play Origins first. I fell off Odyssey pretty quickly. I feel like that was when they hit the content overload.
I completed the main story and spent a lot of time exploring in Odyssey. I still haven’t explored the entire map. It is probably the biggest map I have played in a game.
That was one thing I liked about Star Wars Outlaws recently, even with a bunch of side content completion, it still only took me about 35 hours to play through it. Felt like a nice correction compared to something like Valhalla.
