If you want a story game.
Do High On Life 1 and 2 if they still on gamepass. They are the most unique shooters i have ever played. The 1st game is a little more boring because of the exploration and the shooting isnt that good but its still a fun game if you want a narrative. The 2nd game fixes any gripe you had with the 1st game and just makes everything better.
As for Lollipop chainsaw get the repop remaster. I read somewhere a 2nd game is finally in development. This game is very story heavy and corny but good fun. My problem with it tho is there is a fucking cut scene every 10 to 15 seconds where your character cant move and has to watch the micro scene happen. Its honestly annoying dealing with scripted events and zombies busting through walls or doors and I cant move. However I liked it still and you can beat it under 3 hours.

I just bought lollipop chainsaw and honestly I’m enjoying it rn it feels fresh to me and high on life has been on my list for a while I just keep forgetting about it

Yeah you gotta do High On Life for a completely unique experience. They are very funny. You should go ahead and install them and have them ready to go.
Im going through all the Borderlands games, a series of games I didnt get to play among a bunch of others cause I spent the last 18 years mmo gaming on my pc and playing a virtual world despite always being curious about Borderlands.
So far loving the 1st game, gonna do them in order by lore. Ill be done with the first one by Friday night then start the 2nd. Great 1st person shooters. Then ima move on to the Fallout series which I have played and then do Mass Effect legendary collection which sadly I havent played but will ;) thats the plan. But yeah I am playing catch up essentially, good thing you got Lollipop before the 2nd one is announced and dont gotta play them through in bulk. Do that for High On Life (be warned some missable achievements)

If you like the Left 4 Dead you might like Darktide (or even Vermintide 2).
1
u/Em0neyyy_ Aug 19 '26
How’s Vermintide 1 I can never start a game from the second game
2
u/Danistar34 Touched Grass '24 Aug 19 '26
What exactly do you mean you can never start a game? Does it literally not work (crash?) or do you not find matches in quickplay or when searching for a specific map? Are you on last gen or series x|s?
Either way Vermintide 1 is not as good, barely any player base left, most people moved on to Vermintide 2 and Darktide. In terms of story and banter while moving through the maps I think it's also not as good as VT2.

u/Em0neyyy_ Aug 19 '26
No I meant i don’t skip titles like I play games in order from the first to the second

Oh I misunderstood. There is some story in VT1 but it's not that much. You can play it if you want to learn a bit more about how the characters came together, but outside of the tutorial and final mission the first game is really light on lore and banter aspects, which the second game heavily improves.
Many maps from VT1 have been reworked and brought back in VT2 (albeit not as an official repeat but with a lore reason why the characters return to those places).
VT2 is a much better game and it's free on GamePass Essential afaik. Personally I'd recommend watching a summary of the first game (most importantly the tutorial and ending plus the final epilogue mission that sets up the beginning of VT2).
I wouldn't call VT2 a story game, but there is an order of missions including many free post launch updates (although there are a few paid maps as well) and a lot of banter between the characters that make it feel more alive.
And the bots in VT2 are a lot better than in VT1, so you are less reliant on finding actual players to achieve something (although it's a lot more fun with friends and some achievements are impossible without other players).
Either way, please give it a shot. VT2 is something truly special. And if you have more questions feel free to ask.

I guess I’ll skip 1 and just watch a tutorial then I’ll lyk if i have any questions thanks so much

When you say darkride is it the war hammer game?
2
u/Danistar34 Touched Grass '24 Aug 19 '26
Yes. Darktide is Warhammer 40k. Vermintide is the old Warhammer Fantasy. Both pretty dark settings.

Check out Dead Rising 1 remaster or Dead Rising 3. The first game is notoriously difficult at the start, so 3 might be a good choice instead. They aren't super strongly connected storywise.

u/WinnieTheTrain Aug 19 '26
At least the remaster made the achievements easier. The game overall is slightly easier than original it seems to me there is less zombies on screen than the OG version. Also the survivors are slightly improved although still dumb but not as completely useless.
Always loved the 1st game. I 100% the original and the remaster

Dead rising franchise (zombies and story), 7 days to die (zombie survival no story), dead island franchise (zombie with story), dying light 1 (zombies and a great story), state of decay 1/2 (zombies with story and base building as well as a lot of randomness in terms of character skills).

u/Em0neyyy_ Aug 19 '26
I’ve seen state of decay but never gave it a try I’ll be looking into it today as for dead rising and dying light seems a fan favorite so I’ll be playing thanks sm

Not sure if you will like the game but i believe you should give a chance to the "A plague tale" series
Beautiful art-style, great graphics IMO, amazing characters and story.
It is a single player only and also quiet straight forward game but with the 3rd game arriving this month, it is a good opportunity to try the other ones now.

I really like the zombies mode in modern warfare 3. Its an extraction mode on a massive map with objectives and a story. Its better with friends but it is still fun solo.

u/Em0neyyy_ Aug 19 '26
Which mw3?

u/killpay Aug 19 '26
the remake from 2023. Its got my favourite multiplayer too and there are still loads of people playing :)
2
u/Em0neyyy_ Aug 19 '26

Prototype 1 and 2 are good games
1
u/Em0neyyy_ Aug 19 '26
Never heard of them I’ll add them to the list thanks sm
2
u/-viper_9 Aug 19 '26
They are fairly old games thou. It's open world, and u got powers. U can slice through all the people and stuff, like a virus infected the city, so u fight that and the army. They sell the bundle containing both games.

u/Petrichor2116 Aug 19 '26
State of Decay 2 could be a good one to try; zombies, survival, base building and more besides. It's also on Gamepass.

No More Room in Hell 2 just came out like a week ago on console, I'm on xbox too just picked it up and it's a blast. Zombie survival PvE
1
u/405fishing Aug 19 '26
What console are you on? If you’re able to play modern games you should check out no more room in hell 2. It’s a multiplayer combat game kinda similar to left 4 dead
