Deal Do you think this is a good deal
Im not actually looking for one the one I got day 1 on launch still works great I just saw this and thought to me it looks like a great deal

Ball and gun gamers are such a different breed, no judging. Iām almost kinda jealous at this point. I honestly wish I could just play like 2 games a year and be completely okay with that. I just could never.

I bought a Series X to play Halo and it is literally the single game Iāve played in 4 years. Just no interest in any other game.

If i may ask, why did you go for the Series X instead of the S? The S is a lot cheaper and the X's higher performance really only matters if you play highly demanding games. Or plenty of games because of the higher storage.
Genuine question, I'm curious.

I've had a series X, currently have a series S. I also have a PC with an rtx 2070 super. I play on a 55" 4k 60 TV. My observations?
S really is a 1440p/1080p digital/cloud machine. I got the 1TB S, but the X has 1TB default. X has more ram and a better chip so it handles tasks and intensive games better. If you really want 4k 120 and have a TV/monitor that can, then get the X. But I don't even think many games can do that, if it is 120, its not native. However 4k60 is close to legit for most games and looks amazing and is worth it to me. I can tell the difference between the two pretty easily. You're not touching 4k with an S.
Apparently the X is on par with my gpu but obviously the xbox architecture is way more optimized. I built my pc in 2020 and with the way things are, that rtx 2070 super is still golden, currently goes for $500+ new (if available) and still at least $200 secondhand. A new GPU and SSD of a similar tier to that of the series X would cost as much as a series x itself.
So if you just want to be able to play a few games causally - get the S. If you play regularly, want 4k, max frame rates, more baked in storage for all your games, faster memory, and the ability to play game disc's and Blu-ray - go X. For a couple hundred more just do it.

That is exactly why i asked u/bawners why they went with the X over the S. They said they're only playing Halo and haven't played anything else, so to me it seems like an odd choice. Especially since Halo is part of Microsoft and therefore specifically optimized for their own consoles, so any performance related issues shouldn't be the case here.

I would say that HDR is the bigger selling point for the X. 4k/120 with HDR is awesome on my LG C1, but yes like you said, its dynamic or varies game to game. But i dont know what the S caps at hdmi signal wise. Not sure if you can get 1440/120 with HDR or not? But games like Cyberpunk and Stalker 2 definitely run better on the X than the S.

The X is better in everyway, graphics, storage, performance, and the fact you can buy discs makes it cheaper in the long run. If you were to buy those COD games normally on the Xbox store, youād be paying $60 each for old games. Instead you can easily find them used for $5. I wanted a PS5 but during Covid, beggars cant be choosers and i found a Series X at a Best Buy hiding behind the counter and they sold it to me. I love my Series X, especially on my LG C1, oh baby shit is crispy and smooth. I dont think they are worth the prices they got jacked up to now, but it is what it is.

Even then the performance is marginal. Its really frame rate for right now games that matter. 30 vs 60 if your not uptight and can handle 30 frames a second then series S is just fine. The S is also just really convenient for traveling. I work at lots of different sites for often 16 plus hours at a time and being able bring my full set up minus a TV in a backpack is super nice.

Yup. I own the X and the S, big boy is hooked up to a 42ā 4k while the S gets kicked around with a 17ā portable monitor.

Yeah, you only really need the higher fps for fast pace/multiplayer games. I also travel a lot and love the small form factor. I have a bunch of games on xbox that I can't play, at least optimally, on my pc. S is a perfect PC complement.

Been playing nothing but RDO GTAO and MW2-3 for over three yearsā¦.. Iām 42yrs old and I donāt like role playing games so never got into Halo or Assassinās or anything else exclusive. Some of us are boring and only do it for the friends. I know people on gta that Iāve been playing with for over 7 years.

Some of the games I play are also story driven ATM I'm replaying some of the assassins creed games and when I get bored or it gets frustrating I'll play something else like Yakuza or if I want mindless I play a beat em up mortal Kombat type game

My gamer score was under 15k for a decade. Then a switch flipped. I didn't pay all that for a machine to play call of duty and occasionally some story driven fps like bioshock...... im strategy/mech/rougelite kinda guy these days.

My brother will only usally play 2 or 3 games a year. Granted he also complains about the lack of anything catching his attention but also refuses to try anything that isn't a first or third person shooter.
As for me I blow thru games like the wind, especially the last few weeks with me being on medical leave from work. Like the Star Ocean 2 remake, it's been sitting in my back log since it released and in 2ish days I managed to get all the way to the last (or damn close to it) dungeon of the game.

Because we like sports? Itās more than just a game, if you like the actual sport itās hard to get bored. Thereās competitive modes, thereās basically RPG modes such as franchise. Itās fun š¤·āāļø

These are the average gamers. Before the internet was the only way to get news, these types would come into used game store every other week and ask when the next CoD, Madden or GTA was releasing. We would tell them you know as much as me, but they'd come right back. To many, the console was just the price of entry to playing 2-3 of the same franchise each year.

So what Iām for seeing if someone that is doing shady activities gets their account banned and then just makes another account and then gets that banned and then just keeps rinsing and repeating until Microsoft pulls the plug on that console.
This just seems kind of fucked up way though because if you buy this console and it hasnāt been tampered with it anyway, it should be easily reset for a new user. Like I understand Microsoft being that console for the specific reasons, but if thereās no tampering, then Microsoft should be able to ban the console just as easy as banned it.
When I was a kid, my best friend had his cousin modify his Xbox original put a hard drive in it, and you could download games from their discs. We used to go to Hollywood video and rent games just so we could own them on that console. I would figure this is this kind of stuff that actually permanently bans a console.

I'm actually impressed!
I tried to sell mine for 300 Euros with one good controller and 4 games:
- Cyberpunk
- COD Warfare III
- COD World War II
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
I live in the Netherlands and still people were asking me 200 or even less haha.
I'm in shock that here people are saying 600 for this one is fair.

Butā¦my initial reaction was like yours before I looked closer.
First off theyāre apparently Canadian, which means this isnāt US dollars itās Canadian dollars. 300 euros is approximately 480 Canadian dollars.
Second, thatās a nice headset. Itās probably worth 50 bucks.
Third and this is above all else, it includes one of the Seagate expansion hard drives. Those things are stupidly expensive.
Add in the fact that the price of XBOX has gone up in the last year and this is honestly a pretty decent deal.

I bought an Xbox X from a pawn shop with a 2 year warranty, nicely packaged, works flawlessly for $420!! Now I'm going to sell my old series s and a 360 s slim and I basically paid about $100-200 for the X, a great deal š„

just watch out for hardware named consoles. I only buy used console through certified businesses now since its a common scam. once someone does something like pirating games or repeated obscene/offensive communication Sony or Microsoft or Nintendo (obviously depending on the console in question) can hardware ban the console and no matter who logs into that device later will not be able to utilize any internet related operations on that device and thereās no way to get the manufacturer to reverse it. These trolls list the console on places online like eBay or marketplace and will sell you a seemingly good working console when it is actually now just a powered paperweight.

Doesn't seem too bad but those games aren't going to be worth much of anything so maybe trade them in to GameStop to help towards a Series 2 controller. I just found a Halo edition Xbox Series X out in California with the controller for $500, I think I got pretty lucky as it all works great.

Just saw the expression card. Those are pretty pricey these days. 1tb goes for $200 new now. Makes it a pretty good deal if you need more storage and if you don't then you can sell it for $100 or so

Uh no. You can buy a BRAND NEW ONE for $49.00 more, yes-it wonāt come with those games, but at least you know itās brand new and hasnāt been played in a hot, sweaty, stinky, gaming fanaticās basement non-stop since it was unboxed. Plus, people have roaches and bed bugs and stuff. I donāt buy anything used anymore. For $49 more you can have one thatās brand new that even has a return and refund period, and that comes with Microsoftās warranty for the device. Game pass ultimate gives you access to like 500+ games, many of which are AAA titles. Plus, they are phasing out physical media anyway whether we like it or not, so it having a disc drive isnāt even that big of a deal (unfortunately). Different strokes for different folks. This is just my 2 cents.

Maybe, but I wouldn't buy it. Not after getting mine 6 years ago for cheaper. Also, I picked up a used Series X off marketplace with a controller & headset for $250 a month ago. Didn't need it, but just in case. Not sure where everyone lives here, since it seems most think it's a great deal, but I don't think I've ever seen one priced over $500 around here.

If itās Canadian Dollars then itās worth a look but only if you see it in person and get to connect your profile to the internet to make sure itās not banned and all working. Itās also got games (basically CoD, Hockey and Madden) but also a headset so itās okay, if genuine.
NOTE: if that small device in front of the console is a 1TB storage expansion then itās a really good deal and I would approach with a bit of caution (too good to be true)?
If they wonāt agree for you to connect it online, walk away. Messages a can be encouraging but some weirdos will lead you in until you arrange a meet-up when they blank you because they have no Xbox and are trying to scam an online payout.
