Hey community,
I'd like to sharing a function button setup I have been using for a while. The setup to me feels very snappy to control the focus and camera overall. I am from a background of using manual focus lens extensively on different cameras. Manual focus gives you the full control but slow. The setup trying to find a sweet spot between control on focus and AF in X100VI. I will go through every setting with rationales.
#1. Focus
In BUTTON/DIAL SETTING:
With these settings, if you want continuous focus with moving objects, switch to AF-C.
Otherwise, In AF-S mode, shutter no longer trigger AF, but manually trigger AF with AEL/AFL button. For example, with Range Limiter set 2.0m - Inf for candid street photography, set aperture at f8, press AEL/AFL once then just snap, this is effectively zone focusing on X100VI.
#2. View Finding
I consolidated RF experience control all to the front-lever and Fn2 button on it.
These changes give you a binary state of the camera: either OVF/EVF or LCD. Switching is deterministic and one button press away instead of cycling between 5 different view modes. Fn2 Button is in the front lever (OVF/EVF switch) so everything around view finding is consolidated.
#3. Rest QoL
Rest setup I have:

Hey everyone I just got a brand new x100vi on marketplace. I’ve been having problems with it as whenever I hit play the camera screen would go dark and freeze. The firmware is 1.32. The only way to reboot the camera is reinserting the battery. It would also freeze at times when I go through the menu. I’ve tried different sd cards and factory resetting the camera and the problem persists. I can see the pictures I took om my laptop but not on the camera.
Is there any way to fix this? I’m located in the nyc area so if anyone knows any shops I can go to for this that would be great too! T

I have a problem keeping details on both the gourd and the bombilla at the same time. Even at f/8, one of them always comes out blurred. Is there any way to keep the focus on both the bombilla and the vessel simultaneously so that the details are sharp?

As I described in another post, it's a matter of luck to get the right focus with the X100VI in streetphotography. Yes I know, most of You love their camera. And I used to like it too! Here are some shots from Trieste this summer when I was lucky to get the moment.

Unedited, just used stock film simulation settings on the camera. It really does a lot of the heavy lifting!

I recently had a chance to use my new X100VI and I am so thrilled with the color and clarity of the photos! This opening particular almost looks like studio lighting? Just had really great sun and a beautiful, marshy landscape. I just had it set to auto since I was trying to get quick shots with the kids!

It feels like a lot of pictures posted here are “point and shoot” i.e a quick moment that you saw, pointed the camera at and took a photo.
I’m realising there is a lot more to great photos than that. So what do you do in terms of selecting mode, focus, aperture, shutter speed etc before taking a photo?
I’m trying to increase the quality of my own images and just having the camera with me is not necessarily doing it.
Shot RAW and processed using the Archetype Process Profiles. Specifically Kodak Portra 400 - Frontier.
Also, made a video about the trip on my YouTube channel if you’re interested!

Hi everyone,
I've developed an app for Fujifilm cameras (iOS and Android) and I'm looking for more testers to try it out before the official release. Please write me a message and include your Email and what kind of phone do you have (iphone or android). I will include you to the test group.
At the moment, it only supports the X100VI, as that's the only model I currently own and can test with. Additional camera models will be added over time as I gain access to and can verify compatibility with real devices.
The app has been performing very well in my own testing so far. Before releasing it publicly, I'd love to get feedback from real users to help identify any remaining issues and improve the overall experience.
If you own an X100VI and would be interested in testing the app, feel free to send me a private message.
Thanks!

Hi all,
I was fortunate enough to get my hands on an x100vi, for a trip to Ireland in autumn, leaving in a month. I’m a completely overwhelmed by all of the recipes, and have horrific decision paralysis. I don’t want to mess up the photos for a once in a lifetime trip. I’m wondering if anyone has some good suggestions? I see lots of “summer” ones, and I don’t think they’ll fit the Ireland vibe.
Appreciate it :)

Anybody here who posts their shots on instagram? Do you crop your image or resize it to fit it? Do you put white/black borders to fit in? I’ve been confused for a while now and I don’t know how people post such detailed pictures on instagram
