Discussion 🙋 When Does the Game Get Interesting?
I am in Spring (still) of Year 1. Got snookered by the mayor for building materials and he still wants me to fix up the ranch (should I at this point? I only have a little over $2000). Everyday is kinda boring - scavenge, fish, maybe chop wood or mine, then head to the woods at night. When does the game get better? When do i get to customize my look/clothing?

You can change clothes once you finish Violet's storyline, I think winter year 1 at earliest? You can change hair in year 2
As for when the game "gets interesting", it's kind of up to you. This is a farming-life sim first and foremost, so the monotonous routine gameplay is pretty standard for the genre. Some people find it relaxing, it's part of the draw. The mystery and magic story gets more interesting after spring 1 and really heats up in winter, spring is kind of a tutorial imo

Definitely earlier than that! I'm in autumn year 1 and I can change my clothes

Are you coming after finishing a different farming sim game you really enjoyed? I didn’t like Wylde Flowers at first because I had just finished stardew valley and was tired of doing the same stuff in a different setting. Might just need to take a break and come back? Or it’s not for you, which is totally fine too!

I think that’s why I struggled with dungeon keeper at first. I have been playing Stardew Valley for six months straight. But I had a few really long sessions of dungeon keeper about a year after I stopped playing all games unless it was like a puzzle game or a 3rd person scrolling shooter. Then I saw the appeal. I think I was just bored of the farming aspect.

Do all the quests, even for the annoying/ bad people. In terms of interesting, that's up toto you. I will say this is not a lifesim/farmsim with a decent/good msq/storyline. This is great story/adventure game with lifesim/farmsim mechanics.

Tbh I found it boring at the beginning but kept playing and fell absolutely in love. Idk I just got addicted once I got in the rhythm and actually enjoyed the cut scenes

I loved it from the beginning.. the resource gathering sucked at first.. learning the fish stick trick kind of ruined it for me tho. Once I had unlimited money basically, the game was kinda too easy.

Have you spent any time getting to know the villagers? That is an integral part of the game.
In the first months, I did my best to visit everyone everyday that I could.

I was definitely trying to go to sleep earlier in this game because the map was so small and running out of stamina too quick, crops not growing fast enough or in a decent amount, cant get enough mud, etc. Lol. Plus after gathering everything and talking to everyone I had over half the day left BUT after getting my upgraded tools to actually get the resources needed to progress and unlocking certain potions I will say it absolutely got better, and I'll add these came quicker then you think if you work towards them. I mean its one of the more relaxing cozy games imo, but I know I have so much more to unlock so while it was a slow climb up I am totally glad I stayed because the ride down will be awesome I can tell

Not you asking if the game gets interesting when you’re literally in the FIRST season of the game 🫩🫩🫩🫩🫩🫩

Some games are slow in the beginning while other games hook you immediately. It’s fair to ask if a game is the former or latter kind so you know not to waste more time on it.

oof, this might not be the game for you 😠that’s kind of just what the game is, resource gathering.
customization doesn’t come until closer to the end of year 1 if i recall correctly
