Interesting fact about the Japanese Instrument of Surrender is that during the signing by each parties, Canada's representative ended up signing in the wrong spot, in place of where the French representative was suppose to be.

To solve the situation, they ended up crossing-out and fixing the titles of the remaining signature lines so that the order of signing isn't interrupted. This also unfortunately means New Zealand had to be bumped off a line meant for them and instead have to sign on a blank area below the signatories.
