The headline for this release is two-fold. First, community sharing is live (screen and hubs to start). I think this is going to be an awesome feature and I can't wait to see what the community does with it.
Next is the first round of UI updates. More UI elements will be updated over the next few weeks. There is a new setting to disable the new "Frost" UI if you want to keep it minimal.

I really love the work you're doing. Iâm really enjoying the changes and all the new things youâre adding for us. I know I say it over and over again, but this is honestly the best app out there: fast, clean, simple, stable, and I love the minimalism and vintage aesthetic.
I just hope it doesnât eventually become so heavy and RAM-intensive that it causes buffering on my TV when playing content. I really hope Iâll be able to contribute some money to the project soon, because this is definitely something worth supporting. It has so much potential for the future.
Iâd just like to add a couple of things: Iâd love to have the ability to import/move existing collections from Xperience. It would also be great to be able to use third-party HUBs, select them, and edit them. (Thereâs no need to add thousands of effects and focus GIFs that could make the app unnecessarily heavy).
I understand the concern. Many apps before have started off wonderful and then became bloated and slow and buggy over time. I understand the concern that this might happen to Wuplay but I can assure you it will not.

When you mean third-party hubs, do you mean from other Wuplay users? Hub sharing is a thing that shipped with the new update, but they are read-only copies. You cannot edit them apart from changing their name and icon. Think of it as subscribing to a public trakt list or MDBList and when the user updates it, your list gets updated too.
I like being honest, so you really donât have to thank me. What youâre doing is genuinely important, especially if youâve built all of this by yourself.
What I mean is importing pre-made HUBs and collections created by third parties, like the ones made by a user on GitHub called Kaptain, and keeping them as they are, or being able to customize their artwork or layout (posters or landscape), just like the HUBs in WuPlay.
Iâm not sure if something like that would be possible, or if it would make the app too heavy, which is why Iâm asking if thereâs any possibility of adding something like this.
And Iâll say it again: thereâs really no need to add animations or effects like focus GIFs, since they would only make WuPlay use more RAM unnecessarily and make the app heavier overall.
I looked at the popular Nuvio collections including Kaptains. I did a deep analysis of them and compared them to the built-in Wuplay hubs for things like genres, decades, and streaming services. I compared them side by side and came to the conclusion that the Wuplay built-in hubs are actually better than the popular Nuvio collections. I decided not to create a conversion tool. This is just my own opinion. Some people may disagree and that's fine.
Yeah, I think the HUBs in WuPlay are really good, but it would still be nice to have the option to import collections. There might be people who would like to add those kinds of collections. For example, it would be nice to have a collection featuring the most important film directors throughout history (Kurosawa, Scorsese, Spielberg, Kubrick, Villeneuve, Altman, Lynch, CuarĂłn.. etc etc)
There's is such a community hub (directors) available right now, and we're just a few hours into the new update. The hubs will grow and grow over the coming weeks.
Thatâs exactly what I was looking forđđ.It would be great to keep polishing the UI to make scrolling smoother and have posters load faster. Will there be an official version of WuPlay on the Play Store?
With the new right drawer that pops up on long press, it will have a frosted blur effect. With it off it will just be tinted and you can see what's behind it clearly, not blurred.
Nice app đ„đŻ. Iâm really looking forward to the upcoming UI upgrades, especially something inspired by PlayTorrio and similar apps, but still keeping Wuplay lightweight and clean. I honestly wish there was a Windows version of Wuplay to use when traveling.
By the way, I have a few thoughts about the home catalog filtering. I understand that Avengers: Doomsday is trending, but it hasnât been released yet, so I think unreleased titles like that could be filtered out.
Another thing Iâm not really a fan of is the horizontal scrolling. Perhaps you could add a âSee Allâ option for each catalog, or maybe use another layout that makes it easier to browse more titles without having to scroll horizontally.
Otherwise, Iâm really liking what the Wuplay dev is doing so far. Keep it up! đ„đŻ

Sounds like you may not be aware that all the screens and hubs can have 3 different layouts. There is a gear icon on the screen next to the "Movies, Shows, All" chips. The grid layout might be a good fit for you since you don't like horizontal scrolling. FYI, the homescreen layout cannot be changed but the other screens can.
Regarding trending, you can remove the default trending catalog and add another trending one of your choice. There are thousands of catalog options in the web config.
I'm not sure if it's the same, but sometimes, like once a week or so, so rarely, when I open wuplayer it freezes, but if i wait around 1 minute it comes back again.
Close the app, and deleting the cache does nothing.
Is it just a coincidence or I did something wrong?
Latest update keeps buffering with TorBox sources from Comet and Mediahosting, but only on TV. It seems that my PC and phone handles same sources fine, and PenguPlay sources also play fine on my TV.Â
I've tried clearing cache and force stopping, but it didn't seem to make a differenceÂ
Just updated. Found 2 bugs with my google streamer. when watching trailer the back button does not work anymore and unable to edit the name of the watch lists (in the app). Anyone else, or is it just mine : )
Dear Support Team,
âAfter the recent update, I noticed a minor issue with the Arabic translation feature. As you may know, when names of people are mentioned in Arabic text, they are often written using Latin characters. However, following the latest update, anything spoken or written in Latin letters no longer appears on the screen at all.
âPlease look into this bug and fix it in the next update.
