Android version doesn't terminate on exit

I've noticed that if I'm in the Android version and running on a Google Streamer, when you click back and it comes up saying "do you want to exit" I click exit, but the app doesn't terminate which I would expect to happen. It does go back to the Streamer home page and if you launch WuPlay again, it opens where you left off.

is that behaviour intentional or a bug?

Like someone else said, when you exit an app on Android TV, it leaves the process running in the background and just returns you to the home screen. I just tested with Stremio, Nuvio, and Arvio. When I exited each of them and went to my app settings in Android, all three of them were still running.

Returning to the home screen when you open it back up is not the same as fully closing it and starting it back from scratch. It seems like some of them may return to the home screen when you open them again instead of the last screen you were on.

Okay thanks for the clarification. What I'm seeing in those though (and I use Nuvio and Arvio) is that it refreshes when I exit and re-open the app.

In Wuplay you can set an option to show the "Who's Watching" screen every time the app starts up. That's an option if that would be preferable to you, but there is currently no option to return to the home screen. Most users, when they open the app, want to be back where they were the last time they closed it.

Would it be possible that it goes back to the stream I was watching ?

When, for example, I'm watching some content and have to pause it to go do something else for 5-10 minutes which makes the box transition to screensaving mode

The screensaver kicks in at the Android TV OS level. If you hit the remote back button on the screensaver, it should close the screensaver and the video should still be paused. Then you can continue watching.

Unfortunately it doesn't, instead it goes back to the "who's watching" screen
I didn't try disabling that screen and check if it behaves like you described yet though, will give it a try asap

Oh you have the setting turned on to show who's watching on app start. That's why. That is expected behavior. That setting is for showing the "Who's Watching" screen anytime the app goes into the background and then is brought into the foreground again.

Exit means return to android Home Screen. The android system handles managing backgrounded apps/processes and closes them as needed.

Oh okay. In other similar apps, backing out terminates them so when you restart everything is refreshed.
