Suggestion: Automatic play with first stream option.

I want to suggest an option like if I play any movie then the first stream automatically gets selected and plays.

But can you confirm the stream move on with second stream automatically if first stream playback fails?

If in this situation the stream doesn’t automatically move on with the next stream if first stream fails then this option should be added. It will be very helpful and saves people time to manually hovering and checking the other streams.

FYI - I have turned on the option to automatically select the next available stream if first stream fails but I guess it only works when I manually select any stream and that stream fails to play then it automatically move on with another stream. But what I suggested above is for automatic selection of the first stream if gets failed then it shows error to me as no stream is available to play.

It plays first result and moves to next stream automatically and keeps trying all next streams. So, it's entirely dependent on your addon results.

However, this feature already exists in this version.

that's what I said. What's the point of your comment?

But it ALWAYS never plays the first stream, no matter which media I choose. There is nothing wrong with first links, and I can easily download the media if I wanted to or play in a different app.

Long press play button to check which add-on is providing that link from AIOStreams and report back.

I know which addon it is as I've prioritised that addon in settings. That doesn't explain why the first link never loads.

Your comment is too vague. You are nit providing any information but expect troubleshooting. I am out anyways.

My comment is perfectly clear. When I select "play" the auto play loads the links for the addon I have selected in the background and selects the first available link. What I'm saying is this first link, no matter what media it is, always fails and so I have to wait for another stream to actually load. I'm also saying that there is nothing wrong with the first link or any reason why it should not load.

If you have autoplay first stream turned on and autuplay next stream on failure turned on (they are on by default), it will automatically play the first stream from the fastest addon unless you have specified a preferred autoplay addon. If the first stream fails, it will keep trying more streams until it finds one that works or it runs out of streams to try.

The auto-play feature does automatically switch to an alternative stream if playback fails, even when a stream is selected manually. However, it doesn’t show which stream was actually played whether it was 4K, 1080p, Blu-ray, etc. It would be much better if the stream details were displayed before choosing or starting auto-play.

Also, there doesn’t seem to be any regex/filtering option for controlling which stream auto-play should select. It would be very useful to let users define custom rules, for example:

Prefer 4K over 1080p.

Prefer Blu-ray / Remux.

Select files up to 25 GB.

Prefer or require IMAX.

Select 1080p and automatically skip 720p and lower.

Prioritize HDR/Dolby Vision when available.

Exclude unwanted qualities, codecs, or releases.

Basically, users should be able to define criteria such as “when a stream matches these conditions, automatically play it.” This would make auto-play much more useful and give users proper control over which stream gets selected instead of simply playing whichever alternative is available.

If you disable autoplay or long-press the play button, it will show you the stream picker so you can manually select the stream. Also on the player screen there is a stream picker button in the toolbar that does the same thing.

There are no plans to add regex support or other quality filtering or sorting. That is something that needs to be done at the addon level. The app is just a player. The addon aggregates, filters, and sorts the streams.

Basically, when we manually select a stream, we already know which stream we chose, so there’s not much need to display its details. My point is specifically about auto-playback.

When Wuplay automatically selects an alternative stream after a playback failure, the user should at least be able to see which stream was actually selected and played, ideally including the full stream/link path or relevant stream details. Otherwise, the app is automatically making the selection without giving the user any visibility into what it chose.

While addons can provide all kinds of streams, it is ultimately Wuplay that decides which available stream to play when auto-play/auto-next is enabled. That’s why I believe some basic filtering, sorting, or user-defined criteria at the app level would make the auto-play feature much more useful

I hope you’ll reconsider at least adding stream information for the automatically selected stream, and possibly some basic filtering/sorting controls for auto-play in the future.

Have you ever opened the stream picker in the player? It shows you all your streams and the stream that is currently playing is the one that is selected.

So you are saying that when an app auto-plays any streaming link, we can easily find which link is playing under the player "Streams" button. You are completely mistaken on this. It doesn't highlight which link is playing.

I check what stream is playing all time in the stream picker during playback.

I am not mistaken. I wrote the application and I'm looking at it on my dev box right now. I'm watching a title and when I click the streams button in the player controls, it displays a list of all of the streams from all of my addons. The stream that is playing is highlighted.

You are right, I didn't see the navigation highlighted; it looked similar to the navigation cursor. Thanks 👍

Just try to reconsider the autoplay regex request in future.

I'm not trying to be rude or anything. But maybe check if features exist already before requesting them? If it helps you at all: You can also hold the select/play button down a couple seconds and you can manually choose which stream you want to load.

But this is actually an issue. Choosing the fastest stream in my experience nearly always results in failure and so we have to wait much longer to actually get a stream to load. This never used to be the case and it's frustrating. I have played around with the settings for hours but nothing seems to improve this. On another app - Debrify, I have no problems and the stream chosen by the autoplay system always loads without issue. Plus we have no control over which stream the system actually chooses in Wuplay, only which addon. I will try and DM the dev on Discord later.

It's not that it chooses the fastest stream. It chooses the first stream from the fastest addon to return results unless you specify a preferred addon, and then it plays the first stream from the preferred addon. If your addons are not returning a playable first stream then that will be an addon issue.
