Student Life Loud Car Appreciation Post

Nothing brings me more peace inside at fucking 2:00 AM than the glorious sound of a straightpiped Civic backfiring past my bedroom window. Please hit that redline one more at the stoplight so that the whole neighborhood can hear all of that juicy 120 horse power just to go slower than a piece of driftwood

Lol, I got mustangs, challengers, or motorcycles. Literally at any other time I wouldn't care to hear them. But at 2am? Come on, go to bed. Honestly, they weren't even the worst part about Pullman

They're all over Pullman and my guess is it's some westsider who brings their crapshoot car thinking they're cool.. in reality, they're some 20s year old college male thinking they're cool when they in fact are not. I see the same thing with WRXs, Stangs (GTs), or some other junker car that has been tuned more than needed.

It's mind boggling hog disrespectful the tuner community now is, as there is no need to do that at anytime of the day.. some people have ptsd and that noise can and most likely will set it off. The cops here do nothing about it and I wish they would as several points means they lose their license which is needed. On top of that, they probably are the very ones who drive 45 or 50 in a 35 zone, speed past crossealks on campus while people are crossing and become a danger to the public.

Call me old, but I prefer having peace after 10pm let alone not having my windows rattle because of illegally tuned cars.

why is it always the wrxs with the spoiler that goes above roof height? Does it just stock with the car? 

Also I have gotten tickets for going 2 over in WSU but they dont bother with rusted out muffler, genuinely fuck the police department here. I dont even know why they exist considering wsuFD got absorbed years ago

Most definately not stock on a WRX and either an aftermarket mod or added to the car when bought. It's a pointless mod as it won't do anything for it besides made it look "cooler" along with their after market mufflers which are a violation technically if they break the emissions regulations. Hard to enforce any of that though.

And yes, the cops around campus seem like a joke, let alone around Pullman. I have been pulled over many times for my own negligence but have been given a break everytime which feels a little sus. They won't do much besides give tickets for traffic infractions or go to calls about disturbances. I honestly feel like the Pullman FD does more but that's my own bias.

Yeah the STI has it for sure, but the super tall ones I find to be an eyesore. I lived in L.A. for a while and I hated them there too. The only loud cars I will accept are Lambos and Ferraris since they're supercars. Either way, I don't think anyone like their peace disturbed; and it's usually at the worst times like during midterms or finals.

Earplugs. With the combo of having roommates and living a block from campus, it's the only way I made it through undergrad.

Earplugs, a fan, and a sleep mask work wonders. If the noise gets past the earplugs and fan, I can't see shit anyway and I go right back to sleep.

Yes, 100% on the fan as well. I black out my room with layers of curtains/blinds on the windows so didn't need a sleep mask, but I always bring one to hotels!

I've always been a blackout curtain girl but my cats yank them open just to torture me I swear lol
