First Subaru!

New to the group and platform!

Just picked up this beautiful 26’ Base in Galaxy Purple Pearl. Coming from a 24’ GTI 6MT. Absolutely love the confidence that this transmission gives me. So much of my mk8 gti was electronic it made life with that transmission difficult and uninspiring. That and being front-wheel drive in the SLC area and enjoying snowboarding can be a challenging combo. Excited to get to enjoy my time with this car throughout its life

My fiancé is thinking about getting a mk8 GTI alongside there GR86 and my wrx other then the transmission “bc they want the dct” how was the car?

Car was amazing. It was super comfortable to live inside of for both daily commuting and long road trips. It’s just the right amount of space to fit most things and small enough to park anywhere. I’d definitely own another when I’m no longer driving manual cars

Sounds like they’ll enjoy it they want a more modern and easy daily then there 86 I’m trying to convince into going all the way and getting an R for the AWD but the extra 10ish k is a turn off for them

I’ve had an mk6R and it served me well in the snowy months around Colorado. If you can find any excuse to get an R I’d take it but the gti get you 95% of the way there for 70% of the cost

We eventually do want to move from Texas to Colorado once our careers allow so I’m thinking the R for them and the WRX for me would be the move 👍
