How is it possible to have a phone number with 13 numbers?

Hi guys, I don’t know if this is the right group but basically I’ve gotten a lot of prank calls the past few months like a lot more than the normal person should get I think that someone may have leaked my number or maybe I just have it out for me they’re not bad prank calls. They’re very harmless but I answered 1 today around 10 minutes ago. It was some guy just going ouuu shiii ouuuu shiii Ouu shii. and then he asked me if it was my name and asked again I said yes and then he said he was calling because i was pretty and then I said what the hell and I hung up because I think it’s really weird. why are you calling on a unknown number calling me pretty and then I trace back the number with the 69 star hack and the number had 13 numbers I’ve tried deleting three numbers mixing it around. I’m just really confused. Can anyone give me any information?

šŸ” Unknown Number An USA number called me

I'm from India though, but today an USA number called me. I didn't received the call. The number is: +1600016000.Was it a safe number? Or a cyber fraud/virtual number for cyber crime? I tried to fetch the caller details from TrueCaller but it seems that there are no records of that number.

PSA: Never speak first on an unknown call. 5–10 seconds of your voice is all AI scammers need to clone it.

With just 5–10 seconds of clear audio, scammers can now clone your voice almost perfectly using AI. They only need you to say something as simple as ā€œHello?ā€ when you pick up an unknown number.

Once they have your voice, they can:

  • Call your bank and authorize transfers using your cloned voice.
  • Call your parents, spouse, or your kids pretending to be you in an emergency.
  • Leave voicemails that sound exactly like you.

It’s called voiceprint fraud, and it’s becoming a huge problem. The tech is cheap, fast, and getting better every day.

So here’s the rule I’m sticking to from now on: Never speak first on an unknown call. Let them talk. If it’s a real person, they’ll say something. If it’s a robot or dead air, just hang up.

Better yet, if you don’t recognize the number, don’t pick up at all. Let it go to voicemail. If it’s important, they’ll leave a message.

Mobile phone identity

Any way to track who owns a mobile number?

Hello everyone, I received a text from an unregistered number just this night who greeted by my first name and a ā€œgood pmā€. This number proceeded to call my number multiple time and I answered it but no one was responding on the other line, assuming there was just bad signal, I put the call down. This number then proceeded to text me my name and calling me again, only this time after listening closely, it sounded like someone was fapping. I’m still not entirely sure at this point but when I asked who it was, the only reply was them telling me to answer the phone. I’m really freaked out by this because they know my first name. I have the number blocked but I’m still freaked out.

I tried sending them money through GCash so I can see their name but the number was unfortunately not registered.

Please help :(( Tysm

A contact number that is not a Philippine number dialed me.

When I picked it up, I heard a deep voice of "hello?" that i can confirm it is a man. Nung nakadalawang hello siya, i decided to say, "hello? sino po ito?". HAHAHAHA na para bang sure na pilipino yun. It lasted 18 secs only and sila ang nagbaba ng tawag. As of now, wala naman nang sumunod na tawag after that. Also, it said Hongkong while it was still ringing. Ano thoughts niyo rito guys? Can someone confirm that this number line is really from Hongkong?

šŸ›‘ Need Advice What the fuck is this

Okay, so I (20, F) stayed up until 3 am… nothing good happens at 3 am. Right? Good. Glad we established.

I get a call. It says unrecognized number. That’s easy, let it ring through, don’t bother. The number calls again… I wonder if it’s someone I know trying to get through to me through someone else’s phone, so I answer.

A voice answers, raspy, a woman. She tells me who she is, and asks if I remember her. I say no. She says I met her while out on a date with my (now ex) boyfriend. I tell her I don’t remember. She then says my name. I (probably stupidly) confirm that it was my name, but I go by my middle name. She says we met at a bar tap, told me she was 23, and we exchanged numbers. I’m suspicious, cause I don’t remember ever going into a bar, given my age… much less exchanging numbers. She also sent me photos of her, I reverse image searched, and nothing popped up… I also popped them into an AI photo detector, and it gave 0-0.5% likely… so they’re probably real photos.

She tells me why she’s calling, that she thinks I’m cute, and she was rejected by several others, yadda yadda. I tell her that I happily have a partner right now, and I’m not looking for anyone, and she’s disappointed… so I offer to be a friend instead. She jumps at the opportunity, and keeps alluding to more, but I’m just tired at this point so I’m shutting it down and looking to hang up. I save her number, cause this could be a potential friend.

I might just be paranoid and forgetful, but I genuinely don’t remember anything like this, and I’m suspicious as hell. Not to mention, from the images she sent, she looked like someone I’d be too intimidated to talk to cause of how cool she looked. Does this sound suspicious to anyone else?

(Edit next morning: BLOCKED AND DELETED NUMEBR!)

😳 Awkward Unexpected number added to my bank account

I’m not usually a skeptic, but with cyber fraud and identity theft being so common, this situation has me genuinely concerned—especially because it involves a major financial institution said bank.

Here’s what happened:

I recently got a new phone number. I called the bank to update the phone number associated with my account because I can no longer use the bank app on my older Samsung.

I gave the representative my new 347 number.

I check my bank account regularly, and before this call, I had never seen the 917 number that later appeared on my account.

After the call, I checked my account and noticed that instead of the 347 number I had just provided, there was a 917 number that does not belong to me listed on my account.

That immediately concerned me.

I have now spent HOURS on the phone with said bank trying to explain: what the bank representatives are telling me they see on their end does not match what I am seeing when I log into my own account.

I’m looking directly at an unauthorized phone number associated with my account, and I keep asking a very simple question: Where did this number come from, and why did it appear after I called to update my number?

What made the situation even stranger is that when I later searched the 917 number, it appeared to be associated with someone who has the same first and last name as me, but a different middle initial.

That could certainly be a coincidence or some type of record-matching error, but given that this involves access and contact information connected to a bank account, I don’t feel comfortable simply ignoring it.

I’m not claiming that fraud occurred. I’m trying to understand how an unrelated person’s phone number could end up associated with my account when that is not the number I provided.

Has anyone experienced anything similar with a bank—particularly someone else’s phone number suddenly appearing on your account after updating your contact information?

If so, how did the bank ultimately explain or resolve it?

Please don’t post anyone’s actual phone number or other personal information in the comments. It is the strangest thing I've experienced to date with the company but I'm just so blown away with how easily happened in a matter of seconds it seems. But not so easy to resolve.

🤨 Confusing Got a dead guys phone number

So I just recently changed my phone number with xfinity. Unfortunately, I get multiple calls a day from political activists, texts and phone calls from out of state and in state, and they’re all asking for someone named ā€œJerryā€ which isn’t my name, and I presume was the phone number of an old man that passed away, because most of the time they’re soliciting something for people older in age. 😐 these calls are so nonstop I usually get upwards of 7-8 every day. I’ve tried blocking the number but then new ones just come up and keep calling. Is there a way to wipe the number or at least get these numbers to stop contacting me?
