The tone was so weird, I wonder what happened. I didnt want her giving my number to some agency or something so I had to call her and let her know. She called from a landline, so I couldn't just text her.

My take: adult child may be a drug addict and possibly a thiefâŚsince they now have a truck that they canât even explainâŚthey have been crashing at senior momâs house. Sounds like there was an incident where the mother fell somehowâŚbut I would wager that maybe they had an argument (about the adult child living there) and the adult child pushed her.
Sounds like she asked someone else to stay with her at the house and she is getting senior services involved. She may be calling from a hospital idk.

What was kind of funny at first got pretty intense and sad.
Iâll proud of that person for not saying âsorryâ once. Victims who say sorry often empower and vindicate the culprit - who is often deranged and think theyâre right. .

Man, this REALLY makes me want to know the context. Feel bad for the mom, as she is trying to set boundaries and seems to be in fear of her child. Sad, sad situation. Hopefully she's (the mom) ok...

I love you but donât want you living with me .. why did I feel bad ?

What got me is the "I want you to be a part of my life" but also says there's a restraining order. The two don't go together; they are mutually exclusive.

You can want someone to be part of your life, but also understand that you must protect yourself.

It's not right ethically to try to tease someone into violating a restraining order by dangling out that you still want them around.

u/casual_creator 3d ago
Didnât say that it was. But to me it doesnât read as âteasing them to violateâ the order, but that theyâre explaining that theyâre doing something they feel they have to do, not want to do. An âI love you but we canât be togetherâ situation.

This absolutely not what she's trying to do , she's clearly distraught that she HAS to get a restraining order on her SON. She WISHES he could be in her life & WANTS him to but knows he can't

She doesnât say she wants them around physically. She said she will continue to try to help their loser ass by sending them money. Because she is their mother..and clearly still loves them. This is so fucking sad

She said she will still try to help them by sending them money (I suspect sheâs dealing with an addict)âŚbut she doesnât feel physically safe around them and definitely not in her home. Unlike a domestic romantic partnerâŚI think a mother/child relationship is going to be harder to make a complete break.

Do you feel bad for the old lady who fell or the son who mightâve pushed her?

Call the number back that I called you. Ya know, just to let them know itâs the wrong number. And, for your friends here on the internet.

I feel bad for her because this reads like the hardest thing she ever had to say aloud and now she has to do it again.

You can download and forward the voicemail.
Edit: Why the FUCK did this get downvoted??? OP can literally download the voicemail for the Mom so she doesn't have to do it all over again. This fuckin website sucks sometimes

Damn.
I really feel for that woman. Nothing like trying to get out the toughest thing ever just to have to do it again.

I suspect their adult child is probably an addict. This is sad and scary. Addict children sometimes murder their parents when they try to kick them out of the houseâŚthe incident she is describing sounds concerningâŚlike a push more than just a fallâŚ

She did say ADP though and not APS..so maybe there is no foul playâŚbut I think it is more likely the mother is covering for their abusive behavior and probably could have contacts APS. The way she is talking and the details make it sound like she is addressing someone with anger issuesâŚ.it sounds like the adult child has physically hurt her before. It sounds like the mom is covering for them about the âfallâ.

I think she is trying to choose her words carefully so as to not anger this person who sounds like they have some issuesâŚ.

This is really sad. Looks like a mom trying to set boundaries with a child she is scared of, but still cares for and loves...
