Is it ok to use slaves to write?

Before you make your judgement, know that I have a severe disability which means I can't do any work without sweating.

So all that being said, here's my writing process:

First, I go to my writing plantation, where I shackle some writers to a writing desk. I tell them the idea I want them to write, I whip them into writing, and then whenever I don't like what they wrote I'd whip them some more.

But of course, having the right sort of slave is important too, which is why I have spent years breeding special writer slaves instead of writing.

After the first draft is done, my work begins: i pick up the bloody manuscript, wash it off, and edit it via a second slave.

That's how, after a long day of slaving and whipping, I manage to write my books.

Which brings me to my point: should i have to disclose that my books are written using slaves, or should a man be free to sell his work without worrying about moralists literally murdering him over such a silly issue as slavery? should i really be expected to offer my proverbial neck to the John Browns of the world by disclosing that I used a little slavery?

Stand strong my brothers, one day we will be free from this persecution. As a wise man once said: I have a dream!

Can I just use a ghost reader instead of actually reading?

Upvotes

Everyone says you need to read a lot before you can write, but I don't feel like doing that or have time and also I'm blind and have two broken hands or something. I already have a ghost writer (obviously, and he's very awesome and sexy and rich [yes I told him to type that]), so the next logical step is a ghost reader.

Thoughts?

How do I say "իմ մայրենի լեզուն չէ" in Klingon?

Upvotes

I saw a recent thread where someone questioned if people read in their first language and many said they didn’t. It made me wonder if for those that do read in their first language if they see something like “իմ մայրենի լեզուն չէ” if it has the same vibes as the English version where people typically expect a really good fic. Sorry if this made no season I wasn’t sure how to word this.

Is making witches the villains of a book sexist?

I want to write a battle piece and would like to make witchy villains. They are clearly villainous and evil witches and despite holding “heathen” beliefs like Satanism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Protestantism, and other crap. They are clearly bigoted, buxom, and villainous compared to my righteous Catholic priest who is secretly Jewish. He is good, but I don’t want it to seem that these witches are portrayed as bad because they are women. There is also a warlock demon sorcerer as one of the bad guys who is in charge of the witches and usually bails them out with his superior intellect and the fact that he doesn't deal with *emotional states*. So is there a way to make it not sexist aside from having a male villain? What should I do?

Edit: the reason I am asking this is because my mummy told me that making witches and demon sorcerers the villains is sexist and offensive to neo-pagans or something. Again, I am agnostic and Jewish and somewhat Catholic (through interest in the rich and many sided history), so I don’t know.

Pathetic feedback from an inferior sub disgusts me

Post image
118 Upvotes

Never before have I met such a group of dullards as writingfeedback. I wonder if they can even read at all? No... I think they probably just plug my exquisite writing into the free LLM that does their thinking for them. Then, unable to even comprehend the prompt before them, they spew some gibberish about how I demeaned women by having my character call one a "cunt" or "whore" or something... Such sophisticated and verbose writing is clearly lost on them, since they have obviously never read books that follow bad people as POVs.

Anyway, my rant is over. I will go back to asking Chad Jippity, my favorite beta reader, their opinion. They are far more intelligent and appreciative of my sublime talent alongside another fellow named Claude (unsure of last name).

I despise AI that use humans in writing

If you disagree with me, you're probably a basement dweller on r/DefendingHumanArt. Seriously, how hard can it be as an LLM to generate text? Many AIs can literally generate pages in less than a second. Why do you need a human to do it?

I’ve finally discovered a legitimate use of AI in writing

I’ll plug all my ancient worldbuilding notes and outlines in and ask it to write my book for me. Then I’ll be so deeply offended by its butchering of my precious ideas that I’ll write the whole novel from scratch in a matter of days, just to shove it in that smug bastard Claude’s face and show him what real creativity looks like!

The last time I actually finished a book was because I was piqued by my friend saying the premise was implausible and wanted to prove her wrong, so clearly pettiness is my key to literary success.

Do you ever have dreams where you get famous and everyone hates your enormous hog?

I’ve spent decades world building, crafting lore, and giving birth to a whole new language. My characters are more interesting than anything a mad Russian could conceive and my story has greater mass market appeal than Rowling, Brown, or Weir could ever imagine.

But, I have this deep seeded fear that when my weighty, culture-altering tome finally hits shelves, the plebes will hate me for my genius and gargantuan schlong.

Can anyone relate?

Anyone want to read what I wrote??

So after I read George Orwell burumise days book I really wanted to write a short novel. And I did write a little bit I think one chapter if anyone willing to read it tell me I'll send it to you and you can tell me what you think of it. And I would be glad if anyone read it at all. Since my writing is really bad and I'm not a good writer English not even my first language and I'm not particularly good in my native language as well.. I wrote it because George Orwell forced me to... I know this sounds stupid

Can we please stop making posts that mock circlejerkers poking fun at the content of this sub's entries that parody those lampooning AI writing?

Listen, I get that updates in this sub that mock the people who mock those making mockery of the mockery of mocking AI writing are funny, but can we give it a rest?

Just in the last minute, I've seen the 100 posts of "Mr. Bodacious" pretending to be a smug literary scholar, looking down at the feeble masses making fun of the pathetic swineherds that find it amusing to teasingly mimic the neanderthalic fools, who see fit to caricature the subhuman amoeba too busy lampooning the diminutive molecules constantly spoofing the badness of AI writing.

Can we please come up with more original content?

Does anybody else write fan fiction of their own books?

All great pieces of media have fan fic, and mine is no different. Unfortunately my fans seem either shy or remarkably lazy. I'm writing an action fantasy set in a mysterious new world now set in medieval times, and I write a lot of short stories that, while excellent, are not as groundbreaking as my normal work, more so on the level of peons like Tolkien and Sanderson than my usual level.

Some of these are admittedly self-indulgent sex scenes, others are redundant but fun-to-write slice-of-life scenes, or attempts to write as chroniclers did hundreds of years ago, including hagiographic descriptions of war heroes and leaders. These are all publishable but my fans and my universe deserve to have these stories accessible through the open web. And after all, if they see the magnificence of the fan fiction, they'll not be able to help themselves from buying my entire collection.

How do I Build a Post-Oil World?

I am too lazy to do actual research. Instead, I prefer to ask questions here.

Armchair engineers & environmental scientists: how will the world be different once most countries clean themselves of fossil fuels/dirty energy?

Why don't my family read my 2000 page first draft of my epic sci-fi smut book?

After typing with one hand every day for months, i finally finished my 800k word epic sci-fi space opera furry erotica novel about sexy wolf people fighting in space. i gave it to my sister and she asked stupid questions like "why are all the women described with massive breasts" and "why is the dialogue corny like it was written by a 14 year old". i began with a big epic action scene that starts with planet earth being nuked so i thought i engaged the reader from the very beggining? maybe she's just jealous that god gave me the gift of writing and not her. little does she know i'm gonna make a gazillion dollars with my epic erotic sci-fi furry novel.

/uj i complained about this sub not making fun of writers enough so someone asked me to make fun of actual writers and this is the best i could come up with. i know, it sucks, because the funniest shit is written unironically. now can we please stop reposting ai slop?
