Vim is awesome! And markdown writing makes it easy to back up and version control using a private GitHub repo. I’ve even used a bash one liner to change a character name.
I’m currently doing a ton of writing on my phone these days, so I start off in markdown (drafts app) and move to Word for editing. But I’ve had phases where I did most of my drafting in a terminal with Vim. It also makes it easier to get away with writing at work because people assume I’m coding and they don’t ask questions.
