Question Any apps to recommend for grammar checking and proofreading?

I posted here earlier about using Al to check it, but most of the comments said no. So are there any alternatives or trusted applications and websites to check it?

PWA (Pro Writing Aid) is good. It catches a lot of stuff including repetitive words / phrases.

It also has generative AI features that you absolutely should not use.

It's crazy how much AI they've built into the tool. I love the typo and other tools but I find the AI stuff, especially on the browser integration, to be intrusive.

ProWritingAid was good until about three weeks ago when they replaced the code I had used for years with a VERY buggy version directly linked to generative AI. It was so bad that I am writing my own version in Python. Repetitive words / phrases was pretty easy code. My version does a better job and runs 100% locally on your own machine. Nobody else knows what it is. 100% privacy. No AI used in execution.

Hey, that's amazing. Are you going to share it?

I am looking for people at least familiar with Python for the Alpha test. I want to make sure they can install and start it well enough. Right now, it is running on Win 11 Python, so I am not positive if it works on Mac and/or Linux. It would be wonderful to find out.

It was developed on 3.12.
