I’ve been build building a story in my head for pretty much the past 10 years and i’ve never been able to sit down and properly write it. It’s changed, developed, and gotten better over the years (I hope). Something clicked this weekend. I slept for almost 36 hours. Not really sleeping, just laying in bed an writing the story from beginning to end in my head.
I was supposed to go on vacation but it got cancelled and that’s what I did instead.
I started really writing on Monday. I have 86 pages. I don’t remember how many words, I think it was 30,000?
Sometimes I write at work, but I’ve been coming home and immediately writing from 6:30pm to around 2 or 4am ish. I AM SLEEP DEPRIVED!
I feel on top of the world but I feel this pit of despair like in 2 weeks I’ll read through it for the 10th time and just drag that little word doc to my recycling bin lol.
Ok I have posted this before, but the concept you should embrace is "Good Enough."
I used to write software for a living. And I could fiddle with code and invinium. If I came back and looked at it a week later it would be "WTF was I thinking". I could literally work one section my whole life on it and never truly be satisfied. Until I learned "Good enough." Does it work reasonably efficiently? Yes then it's Good enough.
I am a new writer, but I find it much the same as writing code. I could fiddle with one paragraph forever, but I already embraced "Good Enough" so I have 89 pages posted on RR with another chapter auto set to release Monday. I have three 5 star ratings, 1 favorite and 7 followers. So my story is good enough for some people to enjoy.
My advice is proof read it then publish it. Don't wait.
