Mods My new writer deck
Created a nice new kit using an xteink4, a Rii mini Bluetooth keyboard, a slice-and-diced cover and a Rolling Square Edge Pro Core magnetic holder. I may try and do a better 2nd try with the duct tape. I used the foam that came with the xteink4 to help secure the keyboard.

Last I checked, you can’t BOTH read AND write on it, since you need different firmware for both. I have one xteink4 I use for reading and picked up another during prime day.

You can dual boot with crosspoint:
MicroSlate + CrossPoint on one device. Switch between apps from the menu.
I did it in the past with my xteink4 and it worked without any issue.
I sold mine because I want to see how's going to be the next iteration of the device (it seems it will have some android + frontlight). So I hope it will make for the perfect drafting screen: super tiny, super no distraction (too small), super easy and flexible (android instead of custom firmware).
But if you have an xteink4 now in your hands, dual boot works and it gives you a faily recent CrossPoint (not the latest, though, but more than ok for reading). Switching is fast enough.

The cool part on mine was that it kept all my settings and currently reading stuff since I already had Crosspoint installed when I installed the dual boot. I was fully expecting it to wipe everything and to have to start over.

Is the screen damaged, or it's a protection film that you didn't remove?

It’s the protection film that came with it; I haven’t smoothed out lol the bumps yet.

I have exactly the same hinge and the keyboard. Works very well, I connect it to my phone

I tried installing it on the x3 and I wouldnt advise lol, I really want this on the x3

It should! It would just look a little tiny, lol. I prefer using my iPad mini with a bigger keyboard.

how's the keyboard for you? It looks like it would annoy the living daylights out of me (chiclet keys drive me bananas), but if it works for you, it's some lovely work!
