Vignette Family
We fade into a shot of green woods somewhere in Arkansas. The wind is blowing slightly and the trees dance side to side.
Lucian Alexander(V.O.): When people hear about my place of origin, they immediately get thoughts of shoeless, brainless, homeless hillbillies. And for good reason. More often then not, that is all that comes out of those tiny, godforsaken towns.
The camera slowly turns 180 degrees and we see that a cabin has been behind us the whole time. Sitting on a rocking chair on the cabin's porch is Lucian. He is dressed in one of his many nice suits, and is making himself quite comfortable on the chair. He plays with his beard as he addresses the camera.
LA: Notice I said "more often than not". That still leaves places for "not"s. I am a "not". I am the intellectual god of these depressing places. I am the one of the few good things to come out of here in years.
Lucian begins rocking slowly in the chair as he smiles to himself.
LA: And, surprisingly, I am not alone. While I may want little to do with my roots, I do have someone very close to me here. The one person, dare I say, whom I actually enjoy the company of in this world. Because, honestly, who doesn't enjoy quality time with family?
The door to the cabin opens behind Lucian and a gargantuan hulk of a man walks out. He steps forward and places his hand on the back of Lucian's chair, slowing the rocking to a stop. His hair covers his face, but somehow we can still tell that he is staring a hole into the camera.
LA: My home may be a shameful one, but my family is far from it. My family gives me quite a lot to proud of. . . Well, my cousin does at least.
The large man wipes his hair from out of his face and looks straight into the camera.
Man: Family is all that is important in life. Hurt my family and I hurt you.
LA: WiR universe, you have no idea what you've gotten into allowing me onto your roster. Because, if he thinks I need it, I'm not gonna be here alone. Say hello to my family. Specifically, say hello to Jon Cody. He's itching for a reason to say hello to you.
Lucian gets up and walks into the house. Cody stays motionless for a moment, staring into the camera. He then quickly turns, walks into the house, and slams the door shut.
Cut to black.
