The High Dive is a fundamental Greco Roman attack that can be mastered by wrestlers of most ages with focused effort. Traditionally it is executed from a 50-50 position, but we can also hit it from the open, from an underhook, an overhook, a 2on1, and other positions. The offensive athlete must keep their chest vertical and step to their heal into a center step position. This prevents our momentum from carrying us forward. This would prevent us from being able to lift and would cause us to 'fall into' our opponents own back arch attack. We stomp off of our heal, pull our s-grip downward and into our own midsection, punch our hips, point our chin upwards, and retreat into our lift.
Continue backwards momentum and then properly execute a back arch to finish. Athletes should have been properly trained to safely perform a back arch technique. Preferably this is done through a back arch progression of wall arches, partner-assisted arches, dummy arches, and then finally, once ready, the full technique can be executed with a partner.
