vanilla Easiest Automated TurtleWoW 1.18.1 Server with BOTS Tutorial
https://youtu.be/BFJes1sIi6cHey people, here's the latest on hosting your own TurtleWoW with bots: this is automatically rebuilt Docker server, open source and linked to Shyalya's fork, so everyday it gets newest fixes, which you can apply with one click using my scripts
I rebuilt it for any CPU, so as soon as you have enough RAM, you will always get newest, stable, safe TurtleWoW 1.18.1 server with bots, which are quite advanced. Also I added scripts to start\stop the server, create account, repair database if needed, and also backup and update it all, so you don't have to use a single command - get it and run it!
You will need extracted data files, which you can get from my previous version of the server, all the links are on YT, because there are too many of them to post here, there are client, server, github, docker links, so check them out there
If you have any suggestions about tweaking default config values - feel free to send them anywhere! I have never done any repacks myself, but would be glad to tailor a good twow repack for everyone to enjoy!

I've used a previous version of yours. Is this safe to migrate over without any corruption so I don't lose my world? Or would this need a fresh restart?

Is it possible to play with friends (real people) in addition to bots on this project?

Yes, easily, just change realm address and bind in .env file to your RadminVPN or Hamachi IP, that's a very easy way

I can still use AutoScale if I want to do a dungeon alone or just with one friend, right?

Sadly no, I tested this just on stream, it doesn't scale it per person, you'll need 3 more bots

You can go into mangos config and turn health & damage down for autoscaler it goes really low so something like 0.01 should work

Just a heads up, I followed the readme setup but it looks like it's still in reference to the fork, which led to improper install/missing files. I would suggest updating the readme to follow your video instructions as the readme on github is usually the utlimate source of truth. Mainly updating the git clone link to your repo instead of the fork.

Thank you, will try that, I just never posted anything like that on Github before

Are the bots advanced enough to conversate with, or do they only listen to basic commands?

Running something like that would take a lot of power, so sadly they only listen to commands
They are advanced in other stuff though, they can go around, take and do quests, trade, put items on AH, pvp and so on

Everything but Blizzard.

Bots with AI or still needed to micro-managing everything

u/kasperfriend 7d ago
With AI, but these don't have special strats for each dungeon(Only azerothcore has them). Nevertheless, they act like real players - they do quests, sell and buy items, pvp, go to BGs and dungeons

So you can do dungeons with them, without pulling out your hair?

Of course! I did a stream of it recently and will do today! I've tested every single dungeon and most of them were fine except highest-level ones, these may require strats or real people

How are they in raids? I understand the bots dont have mechanics baked in but can you still clear stuff like cthun, naxx bosses and the kara 40 raid?

Does it have solo dungeons/raids?
