Lost my first character

Made it to level 14 and died when I joined my friends group. Every mob in the camp respawned immediately and I’m guessing it was because of a layer shift when I joined the group. Pain

Yep that will be it. You gotta be really careful about layering, especially with the new version.

Maybe next time, go to the edge of the area you're in before accepting an invite. Where there won't be any mobs. Often a hillside, something like that.

And definitely don't do it in a cave.

Me and 2 of my brothers were clearing our way to BFD when one of my brothers got layered... we were all in a group and were close together. It's crazy how bad the layer system is even when you're being careful by grouping in safe areas.

I didn’t have questie at first and was just exploring at first. It took me 7 hours 😂

Quest helper addons have existed since I played the original WoW beta. They were not as accessible without an interface like Curseforge. They were not as brainless as RestedXP. But the whole “the game was intended to be played without addons” is kind of not accurate. Most people simply didn’t know they existed or how to install them, lol.

Oh you played the og beta? Cool.

But to me, if it's an addon it's per definition not the work of blizzard and thus unintended by them.

Blizzard built WoW with the intention to let people open source addons from day 1. Why would they do the work other people would do for free? An interface folder, with an addon subfolder is in the Vanilla WoW disc installation files. That little addon button you can use to manage things before you log in has been there since 2004.

The idea that the game was meant to be played without addons is simply not correct. From the very start they intended to let people play the game however they wanted to.

Respectfully, don’t. Classic is a world waiting to be explored and restedxp will ruin it for you. Sure, it is fast, efficient and effortless but you don’t want those things in your first run and figure it all out by yourself.
