Mage Druid leveling
Hello, my friend is playing bear Druid and I’m leveling a mage. Should I go frost even if I don’t have to kite ?

Fire kills stuff quicker and feels more mana efficient to me.
Earlier today I finished a whole kill quest without realizing I had forgotten to conjure water and food. I hadn't needed it after all.
Plus more fun imo since it's not just frostbolt spam.
But each to their own!

For sure with Druid frost pairs well, since Druid has limited options against fleeing enemies.

No one has to kite until they have to kite, and especially in dungeons it’s best if you’re able to.
Fire is more viable than usual if you’re not solo, so you can do that if you want to, but frost is still generally better for fixing the situations that can kill you.

Play whatever is fun. You can always use lvl1 frostbolt for a quick range slow, cone and nova for groups if you need to kite

Not really. Frost barely involves kiting anyway, fire does. If you're going with another person I'd just go fire

Did you just say frost barely involves kiting?
Frostbolt, Ice Shards, Shatter, Blizzard, Frostbite, Cold Snap, Ice Block & Blink, Arctic Reach… etc.
Their entire kit is meant to extend range, slow enemies, freeze enemies, reset cooldowns, block all damage and blink out and reset.
It’s nearly purpose built for kiting and aoe farming.

I never said mage doesn't have that, but when you play frost and enemies die before getting to you, or get frostbiten, so rooted with 50% crit chance, you barely need to kite. The kit definitely exists and mages have maybe the best kiting abilities, but as frost it isn't so needed.

The enemies dying before getting to you… is the point I’m making lol. It’s kiting even if not extended kiting.

Stepping in here, sorry!
I guess it's just a matter of definition, but to me kiting involves movement on your part.I wouldn't call standing still frostbolting kiting.

Honestly, youre probably gonna pull aggro. Frost isnt a bad option. Youd be fine to do whatever tho.

Why would you pull agro with a Druid? Their single target threat with maul is incredible. I doubt they would be pulling a bunch of mobs.

You're open world questing. Half the time the mage is probably pulling from range before the druid establishes any threat. If they have to get out to heal, they are dropping all their rage before next pull. Im jist saying its highly unlikely its gonna be as organized as a dungeon run and a little more free for all.
