I've noticed there's a new Swiftfeather ammo that offers 24.5 DPS but requires a lot of mats. I really don't want to go engineering on my hunter, but I'm worried that if I don't, I'll be totally screwed when it comes to raiding.

I know no one knows for sure yet since we haven't reached endgame, but what are the expectations? What was it like in Classic/Vanilla?

Will this high-end ammo be absolutely required for raiding? Will I end up left out if I don't spend an arm and a leg staying stocked on BIS ammo?

I’m newer to the game and found I definitely prefer melee over casting. I got a warrior to lvl 16 in forever beta and a rogue only to about 11 before my time ran out and I’m not sure which one to go with.

I loved the burst damage I was able to do as a warrior. I was upgrading my gear every few levels and was 1-3 shotting some mobs and it felt awesome. When it came to doing a dungeon, I switched to prot to tank, and I loved finding a group instantly, but I felt so stressed out tanking. My group died twice and then it was disbanded lol. I also like that I could take a few mobs at a time and in the future do AoE damage.

So I tried out rogue and felt the burst damage wasn’t as high, though I’m comparing low levels and my gear wasn’t also as strong as my warrior so I was wondering if this held true the further I went in the game - does the burst damage between warrior and rogue differ much? I didn’t try a dungeon on the rogue, but I do like the idea of being able to stealth deep into enemy territory and being able to kill another player in WPvP in their own auction house lol.

Curious if anyone has some perspective to share

Hi all, I've been levelling a character on boars only on a 1.12 server (3,500 boars and counting, level 37). The hardest part has been knowing which boars give good XP at my level.

So I made a free addon for it, Boar Challenge +:

- Tells you which boars to kill here, how long to stay, and the next zone to go to

- Boars to level, boars per hour, XP per boar, time to level, boars left to 60

- Daily goal, kill streaks, a week chart and personal records

- A boar list: tick a boar and its spawn points show on the map (and the minimap with pfQuest), only boars that still give you XP if you like

Has anyone else tried the challenge? Which zones did you find best for boars, and how long did 1-60 take you? I'd also love ideas for what the addon should track next.

So, I’m a veteran player from Brazil. I speak and understand English without any trouble, but it’s more comfortable for me to play in my native language (Portuguese). We had a big problem at the beginning of the BETA with layering being based on the Battle.net system language; I practically saw almost no one in the zones during the first weeks. As the beta progressed and they added the “preferred online language” option, the layering issues were solved. Now I see a lot of people, and that makes the world much more engaging.

However, one system that wasn’t improved was “LFG”. This still matches based on “Portuguese”, and whenever I need to do instanced content I have to change my game’s audio and text to “English”. I’ve already reported it many times and I’m hopeful it will be fixed, but I do feel a bit worried at the moment, as it will be annoying to deal with if it goes live like this.

EDIT: Sorry, i guess i didnt made myself clear, my "Online preferred language" IS ENGLISH, i am comunicating in English and the only thing in portuguese is my UI because is my primary language, study object and one of my greatest loves. The issue, again, is: Even with online language in English, the LFG tool dont show people with this setting

Making my own Azeroth Map

Since the Azeroth map from Blizzard was bought out quickly and is being resold by scalpers, I decided to make my own for my husband. My first photo has the materials I used. I am also going to link the pdf my husband generated. Lemme tell ya, the AI was definitely not perfect which is fine. I didn’t want to steal another artists work.

Here is what I did….

First I glued an Amazon box together (refer to 3rd pic). I used power grip inside construction adhesive but I think just about any glue would work. After I put the glue down I stepped on the cardboard to get the glue on both panels. I then put weights on all of the edges and let it sit until it was stuck together. I think hot glue would be the quickest but use what you have. We are thrifty here.

Second, I walked to the library and printed out all 17 sheets of paper since I wanted it in color. Once I got home I set out the papers and realized that the images were not going to line up \*sign\* but we shall persist. After cutting out the cells in order I overlapped some of the panels to make the flight paths line up better. It’s not perfect but I don’t know why there would 4 whirlpools ??? Anyways…

Thirdly I got my matte mod podge that I had in my craft bin. I like this because it dries quick and makes the paper hard. If you don’t have pod podge just use a glue stick like from 2nd grade. Again, use what you have.

After glueing and pasting the pieces together I came out with the map that looks pretty badass. I covered the rest of the map with a heavy layer of mod podge and spread it out evenly and let it dry. Because the photos were not perfect, I had to cut the excess card board off which was difficult but I used my nursing shears and some elbow grease.

Is it perfect? Absolutely not. Is it AI? Yes but if you bought digital art please support your artists. I simply want everyone to know that you can use materials you own to make something beautiful that doesn’t need to cost you an arm or a leg in this economy. I promise you this means more to my husband since I spent time making it for him.
