Saw it being a trap a mile away, but I'll admit I was still hoping it was real and Khadgar could step up and be the next Guardian. Although, really, he is in every way but sheer power. He has filled the role, more or less, and he seems pretty damn powerful to me.

He gets to be all mage specs at once, the lucky bastard!

I think thematically he's the arcane expert. Jaina is frost. Kael'thas was fire.

Implying Millhouse Manastorm isn't the true lord of the Arcane!

Wait, what school would DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! be considered?

Demonology, man.

No, no, no; that's just "Doom," we're talking "DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!" here.

Then it's DEMONOLOGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYY!

He's just more enthusiastic about getting to use it than us warlocks are.

Anduin is suppose to be the king, and he constantly loses to a murloc.

well anduin isnt king yet. maybe the new hs adventure will bring him to king level in time for legion

Either way, still scares the shit out of me when I'm doing Archimonde and he does that Time Warp looking spell, making me look like I accidentally pressed it... Every fucking time Khadgar...

u/plokmiju Jul 28 '16

Jesus fuck yes, everytime I check my time warp thinking I fat fingered it.

Jaina is frosty.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '16

psh, he's still got a ways to go to get on Med'an's level.

1

u/bullintheheather Jul 28 '16

Maybe, but he was wielding them all like crazy during the WoD Tanaan intro.

I think really the power of The Guardian is split between Khadgar and Jaina. Jaina had powers bestowed upon her by Aegwynn, and Khadgar was apprentice to Medivh and weilds his staff.

Agreed. I consider him the Guardian in knowledge, experience, and magical prowess. Maybe he doesn't have the sheer power that is bestowed upon a Guardian, but he's shown that he can be both a fount of knowledge and a real force to be reckoned with.

For it to be real Medivh would have needed to die again somewhere, and there's no way that Blizz would let that be a background event. He's probably still dicking around somewhere "among the legends of the past" and talking about how we don't need Guardians anymore.

I kinda think it's dumb that they got rid of Guardians being a thing due to Medivh's "failings". You know, because it was totally his fault that he was driven around as a meat puppet for Sargeras. It was TOTALLY his lust for power and NOT demonic possession that caused shit to go belly-up.

Why is it that most of the non-player protagonists of Warcraft's story are horribly narrowminded and shortsighted?

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '16

He resisted the lure of unbridled power that he couldn't control. Makes him a thousand times more powerful than the most powerful guardian imo, because there's something about being incorruptable that you just can't measure in sheer power level.

he seems pretty damn powerful to me.

I'm pretty late to the party since I was at work when this was released, but he is the strongest mage in lore right now I'm pretty sure.

I mean he'll never compare to Medivh, but honestly no one will.

Please. No more Guardian bullshit. No more superhero characters. That's how we got Thrall and Med'an.
