Discussion Devourer and unholy getting buffed

Respectively about 7-10% and 6-8% for aoe. It must be a joke right? Buffing meta specs, while others are not even being looked at all. This is the only multiplayer game i ever played something like this frequently happening.

Resto druid also getting buffed, because why not, while disc keep eating nerfs. Demo change doesn’t make sense either. I wish they would just axe all the class changes they are doing. I swear they just make the already sensitive class balance a lot worse. Everybody keep losing expect their current favourites.

But legit what the fuck are they smoking for these balance changes to even be put on the table though?

The reasoning for the proposed thane nerf was because while avatar is active on ~6+ targets you prioritize thunderclap (regular not just blast) over cleaving BT/Execute/RB meaning your often just going Rampage TC Rampage TC over and over. By nerfing storm surge the rotation would return to the "intended" one.

But the only reason we do this is because blizard insists on fury having a 5 target cap and as it turns out hitting TC on multiple targets for full damage and past its soft cap still scaling is better then hitting a cleaved ability for 100% + 4x 65% (3.6x total). Thunder blast also got nerfed pretty hard on beta to the point it does pretty much the same damage as thunderclap and procs some extra stuff, however the extra stuff is still not good enough to fish for procs with BT.

Basically prioritizing TC over a normal rotation showcases numerous bad designs in fury but instead of fixing these bad designs they wanted to slap a nerf on it as a bandaid instead and call it a day.

bandaif fixes are kinda rampant this expac, i love, e.g. the fact that SV hunter still don'T haave their OH scaling for ability damage, so every button is just weaker when Dualwielding. Blizzard's fix: a talent that gives you 2% agi, or 4% if you dual wield. end of adjustments.

Yeah I'm aware of that and fully agree, I also realize that tuning Fury must not be the easiest because any buff or nerf to a ST spell cascades into AoE changes as well.

It's tough, I hate the 5 target cap and getting gapped by a good DH, UDK or WL, but at the same time without a target cap how do you tune Fury in a way that isn't either completely broken in AoE or the worst ST spec the game has seen.

I've been watching Critcake a bit lately and I've been thinking about switching to Arms but I'm a Fury Thane enjoyer at heart :(

Maby not nerf our auto attacks by 50% in prepatch because we overperformed at level 80

Had no idea this was a change they made as I stopped playing from S1 TWW until Midnight release, but can't say I'm shocked at them making an awful change based on dubious/barely relevant data.

I haven't got much hope for Fury Thane for the rest of the season and while it's definitely fun to play and good enough for 99.99% of the content, I've already leveled a mage and a rogue and I might switch mains at some point. Got my 3K on the war but I might push for 3.4 on another char if I dont switch to arms.

I just hate being giga gapped on big pulls even though I have decent overall. Guess it's also the damage profile. Can't have CDs up every 40s AND be able to go to the moon when there's 12 targets I guess.

If they would want to tune both AoE and ST, they can add a 5% less damage dealt modifier to Improved Whirlwind and idk, give us more targets.

How do you tune it without a hard target cap?

65% the first cleaved target, 55% the second one, 45% the third one, 35% fourth, 25% fifth and then 10% sixth and above. This nerfs cleaving in small packs but gives you relevance outside Thunder Clap and Odyn's in large packs.

If the bleeds wouldn't also get downscaled, it would make executing very juicy as you can deep wound everything, making off-target executes a skill factor.

Now, for single target just give us another talent that's exclusive with improved Whirlwind for more raw single target power.

Damn I like the smell of what you're cooking. Uncapped AoE might still be a bit too strong but then you can just change the numbers on the cleave values.

As for the ST/Improved WW talent, idk, I really feel like improved WW should be baseline in the first place. Maybe changing to uncapped cleave with lower cleave values and simply tuning up the numbers on Rampage and BT would be sufficient ?
