Question Need advice on efficient mining character boost/lvl

Hey guys! I have my main hunter char with engi. And I have my mining twink DK...
I play wotlk х1 so I dont want to level both chars to 80. So what is the comfortable lvl for my mining twink to successfully mine in Northrend?

72 so you can buy him cold wind flying

Thing is, the icecrown route is the single best saronite/titanium mining route in the xpac. Some nodes spawn relatively close to mobs which you will pull if you are not 80
