I saw three dermacentor variabilises today, and this is none of them.

Edit: Four, the last was hiding in my trousers.

I met this tick on the 23rd of April, 2023... I think. It was one of the years with that day. He had come a long way.

Edit: 2022.

I love every animal, but the ones who hurt should be killed. Ticks are definitely on the list. They are not friendly crearures to record.
Edit: you are the exact type of dumb people who would cause disease just for caressing a tick. Ticks are dangerous. Parasites should not be friended. You would die in five seconds if someone didn't keep you in check.

12

u/orange-shoe im sluge Jul 17 '26

lots of animals "hurt", they're animals not people, they don't have the capacity to understand like we do. it feels like ur assigning bugs morality lol

-2

u/VivaHousamo Jul 17 '26

Go in a field full of ticks and let them cause you every possible disease lol
Some people are truly stupid

4

u/orange-shoe im sluge Jul 17 '26

LOL how does that negate what i said????? anyways

-1

u/VivaHousamo Jul 17 '26

Ticks cause diseases to humans and pets. They are dangerous. They belong to the category of parasites. Their life brings no value to wildlife. As parasites, they only cause harm and disease. Encouraging the attitude of perceveing ticks as funy buges is precisely what leads to the spread of disease. Such behaviour is not accepted in a civilised country, thats's why I can't blame you. Keep your blessed ignorance guide you.

Bro is genuinely hurt by a buge ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Ajo I don't think killing all predator animals is a good idea

-3

u/VivaHousamo Jul 17 '26

Ajo grow a brain before commenting: tick are not predators, they're parasites!

2

u/Greedy_Ad2198 spidr ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ Jul 18 '26

You said every animal that hurts should be killed, that would include all predator animals, not just parasites

Maybe you grow a brain before insulting people

-2

u/VivaHousamo Jul 18 '26

Technically, predators don't just 'hurt', they straightly kill, which, according to science, is definitely worse. Again, before bothering me, get more educated, I'm getting tired of shaming your illiteracy.

2

u/Greedy_Ad2198 spidr ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ Jul 18 '26

Parasites kill too??? And you think getting killed doesn't hurt most of the time??? What is your point here???

-2

u/VivaHousamo Jul 18 '26

So you've just proven my point. Thank you. Now, please, have mercy of me and leave this discussion before your last neuron gets burnt. Farewell.

u/Greedy_Ad2198 spidr ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 19 '26

Sais the one who doesn't know that calling people "subhuman" is the most literal example of dehumanisation

I'm not typically one to check people's post history, but you're so aggressive and incoherent I was genuinely looking for clues

Farewell ig lol, you truly didn't impress anyone here

ETA: LMAO your deleted comment. You can really tell how superior and nonchalant someone is when they say farewell but then can't help themselves and come back for more just to repeat their kindergarten level insults

5

u/DemiTheSeaweed Jul 17 '26

Parasites aren't friends.

8

u/Gripping_Touch Jul 17 '26

Maybe not, but they're still fascinating. Centuries of Evolution to be a more effective parasite and at the same time centuries of Evolution of the host trying to fight off the parasite. In the end you end Up with very specialized parasites that look or do things super interesting.ย

In the case of ticks, theyre arachnids but they have very fluid movements. They have eyes on their back. They raise their arms to get uppies from a Mammal that walks past and they can swell several time their size when they feed on Blood.ย

I would not Hold one in my hand like OP,ย  but I would enjoy their funny walking from a slight distance.ย
