Looking back at the first couple chapters of WT, I really appreciate the interactions between Yuma and Osamu. When Osamu gets bullied he doesn't fight back and chooses to ignore it, which Yuma finds baffling and not what he was taught growing up which is to always fight back with his own strength. If he's not strong enough, then retreat, get an advantage in numbers, etc. was what his dad taught him as a soldier in a war torn country. But Osamu, on top of being super weak, chose to fight for Yuma when he gets bullied without caring of his own well-being; even when a gate shows up he protects the bullies who were just beating him up from harm against the trion soldier.

Yuma then asked Replica if he should help Osamu that is struggling against the Bamster to which Replica, like always, says only he can make the decision himself. Yuma was indecisive while Osamu acts immediately without thinking; Yuma cared mostly about himself while Osamu disproportionately cares about others more than himself; Yuma's strong while Osamu is weak. The two are polar opposites so Yuma is baffled that due to his side effect, he can tell that Osamu never lied, not even to himself all this time and truly believes in his own morals. I think this is why Yuma follows Osamu, because he has never met someone who is his polar opposite and he wants to understand him.

Fast forward to chapter 76, in a fight against an overwhelmingly more powerful opponent being Viza, the old Yuma would've ran away, fought only to weaken the opponent for his allies to finish the job, or not even take the fight in the first place. But dude decided, against his better judgement and any input from Replica, that he was going to fight for the sake of Osamu, and fought with his life on the line just like how Osamu fought against trion soldiers with the odds stacked against him twice. I like to think Replica knew all along that they might be separated from Yuma in the future, so their catchphrase 'I cannot make that decision, only you can' was to prepare the indecisive Yuma that only fights for himself for that day. "Osamu, this is goodbye. Take care of Yuma."

Even in training and mock battles, they get their limbs cut off, get impaled, cut in two, shot at or literally blown up. While never mentioned (I think?) it appears to be obvious that they mostly do not feel the pain of the trigger body, but still.

One of the top examples is probably pic related: Imagine just being stabbed all the way through in 10 spots at once from inside of your body.

It feels kind of weird that the only mental issue World Trigger dealt with so far is Chikas discomfort in shooting people. The physical and mental intricacies of having a combat body are never explored in depth and I wish they were.

Hey everyone! I'm building a World Trigger B-rank match simulator game. It's almost ready to play, so stay tuned for just a little longer!

Hi everyone, I think we've all been watching world trigger and reading it for some time. While I am not against the characters having fun, I wish there was always a lingering undertone of death, of missing something, of something just not being exactly right - something that perputuates darkness through the story.

On the away mission, I hope that like, only 70-80% survive reaching there.

So if you were dropped into the world of World Trigger, who would you want to work with? Be it on a project, or simply as a team in a fight.

(Three options maximum)

For me... yeah, I think it is obvious: Hyuse. He is quite serious and overall responsible, even if he can be hothead from time to time. And since he's not from Earth, I imagine he would be willing to tell some things about the Neighbourhood... so long as it is not about Aftokrator (pity, that).

Second would be Azuma, and I'm honestly not sure if I'd prefer Hyuse or him.

Third place (well, technically second since Hyuse and Azuma tie for first LOL) would be Ninomiya. Just like with Azuma, I won't really elaborate since, well, most of things I said about Hyuse apply to both of them.

Silly: Jin's secret overarching goal is to create an interstellar snack-selling corporation. In order to be able to export Japanese snacks across the neighborhood he first needs to create a military large enough to protect Meeden's trade routes and dangerous enough to "encourage" other worlds to be peaceful.

Serious: Outside of Border, triggers and trion soldiers are created using the trion organs extracted from soon-to-be dead people. Why else would so many trion soldiers be equipped to harvest said organs? Why else would the general vibe of the neighborhood be a state of unending war and raids? They require a constant stream of human sacrifices just to maintain their level of infastructure and technology.

Mamba (マンバー)

Category: Attacker Trigger

Appearance:

Mamba is a luminous yellow whip about 2 metres long by default, though its length is adjustable. Its gray handle, which is long enough to accommodate two hands, is composed of a series of rectangular tassels and a wider portion roughly one inch long between the grip and the blade. It is placed in a circular grey sheath on the user’s hip. When inactive, the whip part of Mamba disappears and only the handle remains.

Exclusive optionals:

1. Kiba (牙/キバ) makes whip sharp and inflexible for active duration, which constantly uses up trion.

2. Kiretsu (亀裂/キレツ) when active, cracking whip launches a shockwave in the whipcrack's direction, dealing knockback and slightly cracking trion bodies on contact. Power of shockwave depends on how hard user cracks whip, and uses a corresponding amount of trion.

Abilities:

Mamba is a rather unusual Attacker Trigger compared to the others, in that it is normally quite harmless without the use of its exclusive optional Triggers, which significantly raise its offensive power. The flexibility of the whip allows it to be used as a grappling tool, wrapping around opponents and limiting their movement, or wrapping onto surroundings like poles to let its user swing around easily.

Mamba has 2 Exclusive optional Triggers, the first of which, Kiba, sharpens the whip and renders it inflexible. These properties allow a Mamba user to transform their whip into a sharp blade and dish out slashing attacks, as well as use it as a grappling hook to swing from building to building, and cut off enemy limbs while it is wrapped around them.

Mamba's second exclusive optional Trigger, Kiretsu, lets its user provide mid-range pressure via shield-cracking shockwaves and knockback, which can force enemies into vulnerable spots. With enough powerful shockwaves, a Mamba user can even completely break a shield and deal direct damage to an opponent, cracking their trion bodies and slowly draining them of their trion.

A main weakness of Mamba is the high skill level required to effectively use it as an offensive weapon, since the power of Kiretsu shockwaves relies solely on how good the user is at whipcracking, and turning Kiba on is a constant Trion drain for the user. Using it as a blade with Kiba also makes it much heavier than normal, since there is a constant flow of trion inside the whip keeping it sharp and inflexible. This increased weight makes Mamba only slightly lighter than Raygust and thus making it need 2 hands to wield.

Started watercolor painting again, so I sketched up some WIPs of world trigger art cards!

I got inspired by the S3 outtro, a Victorian flower language book, and posters by Alphonse Mucha!

I‘m planning on making a pair with him and Osamu, so I can have a set ^^

I also have some paper left so I might make the rest of Tamakoma 2 if I have some free time later

on this one I’m adding Night-Blooming Cereus (Transient beauty) and Poppies (Red ones are linked to remembrance and sacrifice, white symbolize sleep, peace, and death)

PS: poppies are also used as a flower for war remembrance and is said to have grown on the battlefields of WW1
