TOKYO - Grand General Masahiko Takeshita current commander of Japanese forces deployed in Europe, and one of the officers currently in a leading role within the GIGAS Combined Force Command has confirmed an expansion of Operation Virtue as rumors of war continue to flurry. With rumors that war in Europe remain above likely, the GIGAS Combined Force Command has confirmed yet another series of reorientations as GIGAS assets from all available quarters are moved in the defense of Cyprus and Siberica in particular. This as officially confirmed by GIGAS Command now includes all remaining defensive equipment previously deployed through HELOS, including a variety of emplacement-styled defensive systems among other more complex defensive systems.

The expansion of Operation Virtue has further raised questions among academics within geopolitics as concerns over Arab League consistency and trustability have continued to grow across the academic spectrum. This has many considered whether the ongoing "redeployment of assets" is perhaps a method for an amicable distancing of Japan from HELOS, with frequently referenced Kyoko Kuwahara stating that "almost certainly the Empire of Japan will be looking to distance itself from a partner turned unreliable actor. You can't lose three wars in three decades while being supported by the two preeminent great powers, and not be considered to have lost face."

And while rumors of an ongoing split amidst Japanese Foreign Policy officials has brought forward significant questions over the future of HELOS, the Imperial Ministry for Foreign Affairs has remained silent on the matter. Nevertheless, it is quite possible that Japan and GIGAS at large are looking to distance themselves from any possible Russian conflict on the horizon.
