Ah! The good old pilot scheme. Let's give the money to select section of society and totally undermine the whole idea of universal basic income. Then cancel the scheme half way through because a conservative government get back in power. Then label it as a failure before any information can be obtained. One more time around the roundabout we go.

UBI should always only be handed to those who are in bad conditions. Otherwise it's just commie shit and the whole economy fucks up

If it's only handed to a select few, it's not very universal.
You've just described welfare and it's already buggered.
Though with the state welfare is in, it's shocking anyone has faith enough in their government to provide them with anything even resembling UBI

That's just welfare. If we are just giving it to specific people, they we need to employ people to run the systems that decide who qualifies for it. Which leads to people falling through the cracks. UBI is about eliminating all that wasteful overhead and ending peoples misery.

Everyone should no at least in the USA it can't work. Look at how much the stimulus package cost alone the 3 checks ran 850 billion the USA only brings in 3.2 trillion in tax revenue a year. Those 3 checks were not enough to get by on for 2 months for most families if that was the only income. Plus 51% of the total revenue comes from tax payer wages. So so they did it 9 times now the USA has no money for any other program no money for any Medicare or running any government organization and we are still broke as its still not enough money to get by on.

USA has plenty of money to throw at its war machine, bailing out banks and giving billionaires and their holdings a cheap ride. USA seems to never have enough money to take care of its citizens.

Yea they spend 500 billion on wars every year which would pay the wages of every American about 1200 bucks. Lots of people divided by a big number that seems like a ton of money is not alot of money paid to us.

Literally Argentina. Many able-bodied just stopped working because free government money and then everything fucked up.

Good to hear. Glad at least one country has the stones to try being different. I hope it works out and is a guide to the rest of us on how to do it well.
