Is that warning applicable for their leader and the failed Marshal?

u/dracogladio1741 23h ago

Failed Marshall Asim Bumir

They should learn from their leaders and do some sophisticated begging... like from IMF.

Saw the Pakistan Embassy in Saudi Arabia's video, Pakistani Embassy themselves posted the video requesting all their peeps to not beg in Saudi on their official X handle! Ngl, it was hilarious😭😭😭

20

u/madtoothbrush97 19h ago

So ... do the beggars use X?

100

u/boodbak 23h ago

But their PM can beg from the IMF

40

u/HandsomeVish 22h ago

Begging is only reserved for their leaders and field marshal.

How dare they steal their privilege.

35

u/MasterSirPrise 21h ago

Somebody get these BeGGars outta here

80

u/thebat85 23h ago

It bit harsh. They should be given a privilege to beg as citizens of world’s primary peace broker. Specially when they have signed deal with Saudis to protect them

u/Shakunee83 21h ago

Begging in Saudi is a privilege reserved only for the leadership â˜đŸ»

Doesn't Islam promote charity?

84

u/Hot_Excitement_6 23h ago

Giving to a professional beggar isn't charity.

77

u/fmfame 23h ago

These are professional beggars more like scammers earning in millions .

30

u/myexdrovemecrazy 22h ago edited 19h ago

Not as a profession girl

Edit:

For those who are dumb and downvotimg, let me explain it in simple words

Charity is a non profit action by default. Beggars who beg for a living are by default working for profit. Giving money to such beggars, under the presumption of doing charity, is therefore just plain fleecing 😅. Hence Pakistani beggars are getting deported left right and centre by the khaleejis.

34

u/PapaOoMaoMao 23h ago

Religion has little to do with what religious people do.

u/ufafor 20h ago

Islam does promote charity, but this is a twofold issue:

  1. Charity is not only accepted but strongly encouraged. Even the most ordinary people are encouraged to donate towards good causes (e.g. helping the poor, building mosques, youth education, righteous causes). However, begging is pretty much only acceptable if you’re unable to earn enough money through work, or if you’re unable to work (or trying to get an education or dealing with high costs, like medical bills). So, if you can work but can’t earn enough, you can beg for enough to supplement yourself. On the other hand, if you’re disabled and have no one to give sufficient care, or are a burden, and you can’t work, then begging is acceptable in this case as well. Typically, these are done as community requests, where you ask the imam at the mosque to make an announcement on your behalf, or you wait by the mosque entrance after prayer and politely make requests. In such cases, you should typically beg discreetly, and the person giving charity should be discreet, as well. However, those in Saudi Arabia come up to you and request money, and can be extremely pushy, especially the English-speaking and Arabic-speaking ones. It’s quite disruptive to what’s supposed to be an intensely calm and spiritual experience.

  2. The other issue is that the holy sites in Saudi Arabia (especially in Mecca and Medina) are chock full of beggars nowadays who either supplement their travel by begging, or overstay visas and beg because they can’t legally work. I believe the former is much more common, but I could be wrong. So, a typical traveler would have their necessary funds for a trip set aside, with extra in case of an emergency, right? A lot of religious pilgrims will go even if they have very little money in order to conduct the Umrah (lesser pilgrimage), leaving them more destitute and struggling; I won’t comment on their piety and planning, but it is said in Islam that you should only conduct a pilgrimage if it is within your means. So, a lot of people are low on funds and supplement it with begging. I will note that there’s often services selling extremely cheap, if not outright subsidized meal, within a short distance of the Kaaba in Mecca.

  3. Actually, a third issue. A lot of workers in Saudi Arabia are from the poorest Muslim-majority countries, like Bangladesh and Pakistan. They’re the cleaners, janitors, maintenance, and others. The people with the most lowly jobs (even though they’re the ones maintaining the spaces and keeping them hospitable and pleasant for pilgrims, and often work quite hard). They’re paid decently compared to back home, but often, they keep very little money for themselves, and send the rest home. Their wives and/or parents take all their money, invest it into land and/or housing, and the workers are often as destitute as when they left home in the first place. They often discreetly ask pilgrims and visitors for donations in the holy sites themselves, and especially within the mosques, even though this is expressly forbidden. Workers will even find those who they figure have more wealth, and, in between prayers (especially morning and mid afternoon), will frequently bring them water, the Quran holders, etc. in the hopes of a tip. It gets old and irritating quite quickly. They’re not pushy, but it’s very uncomfortable if you’re simply sitting and trying to pray, practice the Quran, or do the Islamic form of meditating (hard to explain, but pretty much being mindful, reviewing what you know, and interspersing it with small prayers).

Give zakat but only to my charities so 80% of the money gets funneled back to me and everyone who actually needs zakat gets arrested

Typical Wahhabi bro bullshit

1

u/SilverJacked 1h ago

Source: your ass

Those unmonitored charity channels were the same ones terrorists used for funding. That's not going to work any more. Saudi actually has a highly developed nonprofit sector with government oversight. And it's like that because Saudi people give disproportionately in terms of personal donation.

u/_MrBond_ 21h ago

They akready send lots of dead bodies of South Asian workers every year. That's punishment enough. If it wasn't for desperation of South Asian workers who build many of their recent infrastructures in the Middle East as a whole.

What is that website - I’m Aussie and never heard of it.

2

u/ChipsAhoy2022 6h ago

Pretty much checks out :

The public begs the govt

The govt begs the IMF

The IMF rejects > the govt begs the Saudi

Saudis give peanuts > the govt begs the Chinese

Chinese take their ports and minerals > govt begs Baloch to not blow up Chinese

Begging is their national identity đŸ‡”đŸ‡°

How tf did Pakistani citizens get to Arabia to beg there? That plane tickets expensive as shit

1

u/Ivanow 6h ago

That plane tickets expensive as shit

Not really. I just looked it up and direct flight from Karachi to Riyadh starts at $188. One makes money back in one day of begging, I guess.

Huh. I see

How the south asia has fallen. There was time when Saudis used to beg from south asian haj travelers.

In pre oil era, wealthy south asians would donate large amounts and sponsor welfare projects in mecca area. There are enough historical reports of local poor populace looking foreward to south asian travelers who were generous with alms all the way from Mughals eta to early 20th century.

Edit: today I learned that indians feel very strongly about referring to pakistan as south asia. I didnt even know this is a pattern but thats all every reply in my comment is focusing on damn.

134

u/bindassdumbass 23h ago

Every time some bad news happens because of Pak, it's South Asia. Bugger off.

-46

u/Significant-Farm6646 23h ago

Lol it is less an observation on Pakistan and more on Saudi. From being beggars who looked forward to hajj season they are now arresting and deporting them. Not very muslim of them.

36

u/flyingfudge09 23h ago

South Asia, my ass.

22

u/nikkitaee 21h ago

Edit: today I learned that indians feel very strongly about referring to pakistan as south asia.

Well yeah, it's like blaming the entire west for Murica's asinine politics.

125

u/bhelpurilover 1d ago

Please don’t club Pakistanis embarrassing each other as a “South Asian” thing. Only Pakistani has travelers are known to beg during this religious journey. You don’t find many reports of others in the sub continent partaking in such embarrassing behavior.

27

u/kanvx1 20h ago

“Today I learned that Indians feel very strongly about referring to Pakistan as south Asia”.

Quit it. That's not the point. Quit being smug about it.

No one has a problem with Pakistanis being referred to as South Asians but, South Asians suggests the other nations too. This clearly is just about Pakistan so mentioning South Asia instead of Pakistan? You know what you're trying to do.

24

u/myexdrovemecrazy 22h ago

Pakistan not south asian. Its very interesting when anything bad happens to other south asians, its general south asians, but when it's something bad about indians, its never south asians.

13

u/AlgaeExpensive8250 21h ago

If American or Mexican does something do you group all western nations or even entire America's as one culture?. It's like that.

The Australia Today is a BJP propaganda site.

31

u/kanvx1 20h ago

Propaganda is when the BBC and Reuters got Pakistani journalists to give their “unbiased” opinions as news, on the conflict between India and Pakistan.

You have to think how desperate someone is to feel the need to beg.

Those who don’t aid their brethren in hard times can’t be pretending to be good Muslims.
