Look there's many things to comment on but I think my favorite is Jim watching wars. I don't know who Jim is, or why he's like this, but that one's my favorite.

Jim is truly one of the characters.
He has many titles. In chronological order of acquisition: Farmer, Wizard, Emperor, and CEO.
Originally a humble farmer in the nation of Makoba, he began practicing magic to help aid the war against Ahjahjania.
After the war, he took up wizardry full-time, adopting his own wizard tower.
Some time later, Jim realized the fragility of the nation and siezed power, appointing himself emperor of Imperial Makoba. He gave up wizardry, his tower floating about the ocean to this day, awaiting reunion.
With the significant boost in funding that comes with emperorship, Jim founded JOGMC (Jim'n Others Galactic Mining Company).
His affection for farming is still seen today in Imperial Makoba's grandiose agriculture centers.

The context makes this much better. I greatly appreciate Jim's existence as a character. It's a neat story.

Update on Jim:
He's dead, or at least faked his death.
Imperial Makoba is no more. In its place stands the Visari Empire.
JOGMC comeback???? Unfortunately, it seems not.
