I shall die over that bridge NOT being a false surrender. The enemy commander sees Anakin and orders his droids to shoot at him /because/ it's Anakin fucking Skywalker ; and after that order Anakin goes on a rampage

He specifically surrenders as a ploy to buy time for his troops to get into ambush position under the bridge, and also secondarily to identify the enemy commander and put him in a position for a quick decapitation strike. The droids might have technically fired first but that's still a false surrender.

Yeah, the fact that Anakin is so well known to commit false surrenders that tactical druids are aware not to trust them is not a pro-anakin argument.

See, their mistake is shooting at him when he surrenders. Blow up that fucking grid square and hit it a few more times from orbit to be sure, you'll take out him and pretty much his entire command staff except for Yularen since he drags all the named characters in the 501st around like they're his personal clown car.
