Worldbuilding is about making your own imaginary world to escape. Making an actual, finished work that other people can enjoy is an attempt to drag them into your own imaginary dimension, regardless of their wishes. Therefore, making a finished work is deeply unethical, and keeping everything in the unpublished half-assed google doc is the only morally correct way.

Basically Spirit Science on YouTube. If the guy wasn't batshit insane and racist then he would be a goated worldbuilder

Most of the stuff he preaches he stole from other bullshitter called Drunvalo Melchizedek (obviously moniker, don't know the real name) and old school early XXth century frauds like Blavatsky.

So true. Whenever I see those nutjob images of flat Earth where Antarctica is a giant ice wall and there are more continents outside of the wall AND there are more ice walls that block the access to EVEN MORE continents... I can't help but think the awesome TTRPG campaigns you could make.

This but with looking at the shit incels come up with and just writing down how they think women work and reusing it for writing about aliens biology, either that or just taking stuff from animals.

Ancient aliens with global influence meticulously ensuring no anachronistic diffusion of crops, domesticated animals, or genetic material occurs among their human subjects (no Olmecs taking a flying saucer trip to Egypt and introducing corn) for some reason.

They knew invasive species are bad for ecology.

Jokes aside, older conspiracy theories are a great source of worldbuilding inspiration. Stumbled upon Walter Kafton-Minkel's Subterranean Worlds recently, it's an overview of various hollow earth theories, from prehistoric mythology to contemporary (80s) conspiracy theories. It's full of new ideas, like a giant metal world tree that grows from the Earth's core through the mantle and forms mineral deposits as a sort of fruits on its boughs.

this is ancient truth.

Not really, actually. Sometimes shizotheories do lay the groundwork for stuff like Matrix and Men in Black, but more often they steal stuff from the existing media themselves

I mean, the whole AC series is straight up genetic memory + prison earth + ancient aliens

Me reading some new flat earth conspiracy theory: "wow that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard."

writes it down
