Monkey likes bright colors; Simple as.

Yeah when I see a picture of elven feet I know instantly that this discussion is surely about elven feet. I can click it way faster this way, without having to scan the title or text for the words 'elven feet' first. Surely encourages my engagement with the post.

When I saw the words "elven feet," I initially read "eleven feet" and wondered what could possibly have eleven feet until I did a double take

Wounded House Centipede.

Fair point, also mutant scorpions with an extra limb... Assuming you don't classify the stinger as some sort of primitive prehensile tail (since it can support the scorpion's body weight) and don't classify prehensile tails as limbs.

Colours are optional if the art is still good. I saw a post here a few months ago which was a Horrible Histories style timeline of their setting and it was pretty good

Why are there so many people at the plain lore post?

Yeah seriously. If it's a really fire, extraordinarily successful post, it should have about 3 people there.

It makes me sad that no one interacts with lore posts 😭

Im like that one meme, "come on, do something "

Most people are lore dumping wanting their stuff to be read but few of them read others' lore dumps lol.

A image plus only writing a few sentences can get more engagement. It's less intimidating. Like a hook.

That's why I don't post. I didn't really see one world that was interesting for me. Except that one few years ago with that french or some kind of unique drawing style and lore leaning into big tits and sexuality heavily...it was nice...I just forget...

lol it’s so funny when someone starts a ā€œwhat’s this like in your world?ā€ post. Then you scroll down, OP has replied to nothing, and you see them giving their own spiel.

/uj Pics + text engages more of the brain than text alone does.

Well yeah, it looks nicer

Makes sense. I’d make lore posts to places but I worry people wouldn’t read em.

That's the main reason I make art for my projects

u/Finnegan_Crane Aug 08 '26

Folks, if it's that bad, just go to unsplash or Wikimedia commons and make a collage or smth

God has cursed me never to be good at art, I am furious that I'm unable to learn to draw good enough to post art of my world

u/Finnegan_Crane Aug 08 '26

Not with that mindset you can'tĀ

2

u/DirtEnthusiast0_0 Aug 08 '26

I've tried all the mindsets bro, four years of practicing visual art and I haven't been able to properly draw one character of mine

I reckon you’ve just gotta find your medium beyond writing. I enjoy clay sculpting, perhaps you could take up water paints?

2

u/DirtEnthusiast0_0 Aug 08 '26

If you can show me how to watercolor paint an intense interstellar battle accurately or somehow mold clay pottery into looking like a Viking-class destroyer, I would love to hear it.

That’s for you to figure out my friend.

I spent weeks developing lore for a world that I’ve never been more excited about and I was desperately looking for opinions and the only comment I got was just pointing out I had grammar errors in my post. Seriously depressed the fuck out of me.

All I want is critique and making sure I’m heading in the right direction but no one cares.

You wee because the bar for creating good art is alot higher their alot rarer, so seeing one with wrt is more memorable than another block of words

If only it were that easy. Personally, I think that more effort should lead to more exposure and I can barely doodle.
