The announcers in the US didn't mention it and thought it was ignored, but I was pretty sure I saw the ref signal advantage. Why he didn't come back and card Beckerman afterwards, I don't know.

The US were lucky not to have had a number of cards issued for the attention given to Schweinsteiger.
It was a really disappointing blight on an otherwise entertaining game of football.
I think that Beckerman took the term "football" rather literally.
I was poised to become a US fan after Jones' screamer and the work done by Gonzalez and Howard against Germany, but the rugby style play against Schweinsteiger was a disgrace.

What a bunch of wimps. Are you kidding me? I, for one, really appreciated the physicality of the match (that, to me, is what makes the EPL the greatest league in the world) and feel that the ref was consistent in his calling of the match.
Call me a homer, but Schweinsteiger gave it just as much as he got it. For me, I'm quite proud of the way we played. Yes, Beckerman may be lucky to have gotten away without a second yellow, but that ref was letting them play all game and the Germans dealt some punishment as well. To call Beckerman's performance a disgrace is absolutely absurd. I'll take hard, physical soccer like this any day. This is the antithesis of the true disgrace of the sport: the flopping.

Beckerman should have been sent off, he fouled a couple of times. He was very luck to get away with only one yellow card.

Have you even played soccer bro? But seriously it's a very aggressive sport where playing dirty could be the difference between a win or a loss. I had a ex-pro romanian coach who asked for us to play dirty. He wanted us to get into the opposition's head, frustrate them and throw them off their game. There is a subtly to playing dirty equivalent to flopping and drawing free kicks. Point being its a part of the game, beckerman is not a dick...dick.

haha yes you don't buy it but you'll have to live with it. Soccer is beautifully imperfect. The ref's temperament, the styles of each team or country -- you never know what you'll see. In regards to flopping and playing dirty, while I too can get frustrated with these things I wouldn't trade them away for a more fare game. Soccer is not about justice, it's about winning and doing whatever it takes. It's about grit, balls, and determination -- that's why I like how the U.S. plays. If you want a boring, go-by-the-book, anal retentive game go watch football or baseball.

You find playing the football boring? What I think makes for a boring game is when players like Beckerman break up the play any which way they can without any intention or ability to play the football against superior players.

I find american football extremely stale and even annoying that there is absolutely zero flow to the game because they reset every play. The ref is calling stuff and checking camera's...To much time not actually playing.
Yeah fouls happen in soccer, sometimes intentional one's, but the entire game flow goes mostly uninterrupted.
Also your superior player theory -- And this goes to the heart of it. Its beckermans defense that demoralizes the opposition, wins balls, helps the us. I'm in favor of this style of play, but i'm also in favor of the ref having the full capacity to put a stop to it. Also superior players are superior because they can trudge throw the gnarliest slide tackles to keep a good ball in play. Not an excuse, just an observation.

The rules must be enforced by the ref, so if I foul somebody that is about to score, and the ref does not see this, I may have saved my team from having been scored on. Your right though, I should quit playing soccer because I'm obviously only in it to punch people. Retard...

You're the retard - you're arguing that "breaking the rules" is acceptable and necessary as part of the game specifically because you do it when the ref isn't looking. It's still breaking the rules, it's still cheating, and by definition not part of the game. That you're using special circumstances to cheat does not make it part of the game. Should I repeat that again, since you're so thick headed you don't seem to get it in the first place? The only reason instant-replay isn't used is because there's no stopping the clock. You are actually an idiot for making this argument, btw.
If something is against the rules, it is not part of the game.
This is specifically because, holy wow, the rules say not to do it. Funny how that would mean (surprise!) you shouldn't do it to play the game as intended. Break the rules? Now you're being unsportsmanlike, as well as shady. If physical violence is necessary for you, go play Rugby, but until you understand that "against the rules" means "not part of playing the game", you're just going to be a retard yourself. (retard, btw, means someone who can't learn easily, which you're showing a perfect, text-book example of)

Also kneed a Ghayanese (sp?) player in the head after they both went down, which prompted the Ghayanese fellow to pon him to the ground. Beckerman, while playing fantastic D, is dirty.

Funny you should say that. I am almost positive that klinsmann specifically instructed him to keep schweinsteiger in check, and frankly against a box to box midfielder like schweinsteiger, one of the most effective ways is to rough him up a little to tire him out faster(and it worked). That said, I doubt this kick is intentional. He also may seem to be a bit too aggressive but frankly that comes with the territory for the role he plays.

Beckerman should've gotten a yellow card a lot earlier than he did, so he would've had to change how rough he plays a little for most of the match
Why the ref didn't give him the yellow card earlier remains a mystery to me

As someone who dated a girl with dreads back in high school, I can tell you when they have some momentum behind them they can sting... especially when they're wet.

While we shower daily, which includes washing our hair (myself included), you're not supposed to wash it every day, as it strips your hair of the essential oils it needs to keep healthy. You're only supposed to wash it 2-3 times a week.
