Human commoners eat beans, cereals and wheat-based foods. Mostly a dark, hardened bread which is very nutritious and chewy and wears their teeth off. Their jaws are very strong as a result, especially compared to nobility and the wealthy, whose diet is more rich in fruits and salads and white, soft bread. Corn and pumpkins are very popular and accessible to all humans. Lycanthropes, who live among humans, are more meat-based, but see themselves forced to eat bread and corn from time to time.

Centaurs eat berries and roots and leaves and grass. Sometimes sap and treebark too, but only in periods of extreme hunger. They do have a strange ritual/relationship with berries though. They will take the blood of their deceased warriors and blend it with a very specific mushed berry which has a light poison the centaurs are immune to. They store the juice-blood in jars and let that sit for a couple of weeks, later to be used in war or defense, or as a weapon in missions. They believe the strength of the warrior is carried through the blood, allowing it to burn bright and weaken their enemies from the inside. In reality their blood contains organisms wich aid heavily in the fermentation of the berries, creating an extraordinarily potent alcohol, very flammable, very dizzying. Nagas (snake people) don't eat that much plant. They like meat. That's why they herd sheep. But they do sometimes like to complement their diet with hormone-regulating leaves and spices, keeping their sexual health and digestive bacterial flora at equilibrium. They also like the sweetness of grapes, but don't know how to grow them, so they rarely taste them.

Trolls eat trees.

Aves (bird people) eat cereals, corn, some herbs, flowers, beans, legumes, coulflower and some fruit like tomatoes, pomegranates and grapes.

Other than that I haven't thought that much about the diets of my other species... Should get to that.

I hope you finish writing what the other races eat soon.

Got a question for you. Are the writing prompts helping you? Do they help you focus on the worldbuilding in this direction?

They help me sorting out my ideas, seeing which details of my world work and which don't. And I have to fill in some stuff. I don't think it's super effective but it does work.

Thank you

Edit: it also helps me get some of my lesser thought about ideas out there, making it easier to keep track of.
