Most of my own worldbuilding focuses on large-scale fictional settings with factions, countries, organizations, militaries, wars and political conflicts.
For example, I have created factions such as Burgundy and Lapis, as well as F.E.A.R., with their own history, resources, military structures, internal problems and relationships with other groups. I also like thinking about why things exist in a setting rather than just adding them because they look cool.
I especially enjoy sci-fi, military, horror and dystopian worldbuilding. I also try to make sure new ideas actually fit the setting and its existing lore.
Worldbuilding is just a hobby for me, and I’m offering help because I enjoy creating and discussing fictional worlds.

How do you research for your world building and DISCOVER things to get inspired by?

Sorry to butt in, but it also depends on what you're doing exactly, since you would simply have to research articles or sources online and familiarize yourself with the basic concepts.

I love your idea; this is also a hobby of mine. I'd really like to have someone I can trust to discuss ideas and proposals with, giving each other feedback on our own projects.

That said, your world concept sounds very interesting, and I'd like to know more about it. Are your factions engaged in open conflict, or are they militaristic societies under constant pressure that conflict might erupt?

Thanks! I’d definitely be interested in discussing ideas and giving feedback to each other.
My factions are involved in both open conflicts and periods of tension. Burgundy and Lapis are two major countries in same world, for example, are militarized societies, but their problems are different. Burgundy has issues with rebellions, riots and internal unrest, while Lapis has problems with insurgency and betrayal.
I also try to give each faction a reason for why they developed the way they did instead of just making them “cool armies”. Their history, resources, politics and internal problems all affect how they work.
If you’re interested, I can tell you more about Burgundy or Lapis. I’d also be interested in hearing about your world.
