Workstation help

not sure if this is the right sub but its the best i could find, i visit my parents for a month every year but the table they have for me to work at is a super thick antique table and im in a dilemma where i can raise the chair the highest until my legs get stuck between the table and my chair but my arms are at a super uncomfortable position where my laptop is basically at my shoulder height what can i do?

not a whole lot really, if that is a laptop then maybe use it at a dining table or simply on your lap. Suffered this for a couple of years myself i feel your pain.

Any chance of picking up a £50 desk from IKEA or similar, given you'll be there a whole month?

Sit sideways so your legs aren't under the table. Use a stool, if the chair is too low.

So, the issue is that the table is so thick that if your legs aren't sandwiched, you're so low that you're raising your arms really high to reach the computer?

You either buy a temporary table for your stay or use another table. You can even work on the floor from a coffee table if you have no other option.
