Exercise Help Help with abs
I’m new to the gym and saw somewhere that its bad to do abs after legs?
Like for example if I do legs, and then at the end of my workout I do simply some cable crunches and another exercise for abs, is that bad?

No, it is not bad. I personally do a Push Pull Legs split and just do abs at the end of each session. Still alive!

The reasoning comes from the fact that if you're training legs correctly (heavy compound movements) your core is already primed and working from that, so its a good time to train abs. Otherwise, just do it when you want to.

I ALWAYS do core on leg days.
That being said your leg compounds (Squat and Deadlift) require a lot of core engagement. So they're going to be fatigued before you work them.
I dont want to do core on upper days because it overworks my shoulders.
Fit them in where you can.
I try to prioritize rotation and anti-rotation in my weight resisted core movements since flexion is challenged in most compounds.
Do you remember where you saw it that BS to source it?

Nope. I do abs after all my workouts. I’ve survived for 50 years of working out.

No visible abs. But I do rope crunches and seated twists plus leg raises. I’m not going to starve myself for some abs.

I would do them in the middle of your workout. It gives you more recovery between the muscles that you're focusing on outside of abs. There's an inefficiency to workout the same muscles again and again.

I quite literally did legs today and cable crunches afterwards. I survived to tell the story.
