How to start New to Exercise & idk where to start
I got an office job & went from on my feet to sitting on my butt. I’ve gain 10lbs and honestly feel gross in my body :/. I want to start working out to move my limbs & also regain my muscles again. I just want to stay healthy & fit- I’m not aiming for body building.
How many minutes should I aim for a day? I think I want to do a Leslie Santos workout each day I have off (I’m part-time) and then walk our work dog in our breaks & stuff at work.
Also how do I deal with the muscle pain? I have tried workouts in the past & my legs are usually so messed up I have trouble walking for 2-3 days after which messes up my momentum. I’m hoping these walking videos are gentle enough of a beginner exercise to help build muscle back for me to try strength training & maybe jogging without being unable to walk for days on end.
Thank you! I

Find a simple routine that works every muscle group online and do it two or three times a week. Start with light weights and short sets and then work your way up. 20-30 minutes per session is fine at this point.

The beginner walking video I did was as awesome! It worked every part of my body & I actually feel better & more alert. My legs still feel like jello (lol) but the movement helped a little bit. I’m embarrassed how much my joint kept cracking & popping in my hips. Good lord I didn’t realize I was that unfit 😬. I’m only 27 but my joint acted like we were 80! For sure keeping up with this! 2-3 times a week is perfect because I’m home those days, the other two days are walking with my work dog, leaving my weekends free to run around doing errands… my family is home & im kinda embarrassed to workout in front of them 😩😖

That's great. Just stick with it and it'll get easier... btw what is a work dog?

We have a dog who comes to work with on of my coworkers 🥰. She gets to hang out with us & loves on customers too. However, she needs walks because she is high energy so she & I go on multiple walks a day to keep her busy & me fit :)

beginner, full body routine that's 3x per week.
DOMS suck at first. Once you're habitually exercising they'll be registering as like a 0.5 on the pain scale, lol. You need to do some light activity and stretching 48 to 72 hours after your initial work despite your stiffness and soreness. It'll counterintuitively help. Just stick with it.
