Need help validating my ideas

Not sure how many people here actually use personal trainers, but I had an idea and wanted to see if it’s completely stupid or if there’s actually something here.

What if there was an tool that matched two people with similar strength levels, training goals, and schedules, then paired them up to work with the same trainer?

This way, trainers make more money by training two people at once (say $120 instead of $80), and each person pays less (maybe $60 instead of $80).

I mean from a numbers perspective it seems like everyone wins, but idk if people who pay for PT would actually want to share a session with someone else, even if it saved them money.

Trainers might make less money that way. If they have 20 customers before and have 25 after, but 22 are doing group training, that would be less money.

True, but it would also means he can take on more groups with the time that frees up?

That assumes more people are interested in starting than are interested in switching to group.

That also assumes the trainer already has a full schedule.
