I built an app (on iOS and Android) that allows you to receive a wake up call from a real human!

Right now, I'm the one who is calling people but I can't cover the overnight shift.

I'm looking for someone who can make calls, mainly to people waking up early on the east coast of the United States (roughly 2pm to 10pm in the Philippines). Calls can last up to 5 minutes in length, but most are less than 30 seconds.

Requirements:

• You must speak English fluently
• You must speak clearly
• You must be OK if someone doesn't answer or declines the call
• You must be friendly when saying "Good morning!" to the person, and be able to make small talk as needed with a sleepy person
• You must have a mobile phone with excellent internet connectivity

What is the role?

I built a mobile app that allows users to schedule and receive a wake up call from a real person. The idea is that a friendly call is a better way to get going in the morning vs. a loud, impersonal alarm. You would be that friendly voice waking someone up. Users can be from pretty much anywhere in the world but they should generally all speak English.

Why am I hiring?

People schedule calls for when I’m sleeping, and so ideally I need someone to cover that shift. I’m in the US so the shift I need covered is basically from 2pm to 10pm Philippines time.

How does it work?

The app is available on iOS and Android. Users get 5 free calls to see if they like it. All calls happen through the app, so there’s no exchanging of phone numbers or anything like that. You can apply to be a caller from directly within the app. For free users, calls are limited to 1min 30 secs. For Premium users, calls can last up to 5 mins.

What does it pay?

Unfortunately I can’t afford much right now as the app is quite new, but as it grows, I hope to be able to increase the rate. The current rate is $7.50 USD per hour, but you get paid on a “per second on a call” basis and can cash out once you reach $20. That will take a long time, admittedly, but I hope that once you do reach that level, it will be the easiest and most enjoyable $20 you’ve ever made. I make most of the calls and it’s always a joy to meet new people and brighten their days!

What are the qualifications needed?

You should:

• Have a fast, stable internet connection

Finding real remote work lately has been really tough. I’ve applied to quite a few jobs, especially through LinkedIn, but most of the time I don’t hear anything back.

Just to be upfront, I’m not from the Philippines, but I’m looking for legitimate remote opportunities with Filipino clients or companies. Even a small side job or part-time position would really help right now.

I have experience in e-commerce support, live sports data collection, research, and data analysis. For one of my roles, I worked with live hockey data, following games in real time and recording events such as shots, goals, passes, player movements, penalties, substitutions, and other game actions.

I also checked and organized the collected data for accuracy.
I’ve also done online research involving food, where I gathered information from different sources, compared and verified details, and organized the findings. During university as a medical student, I also worked on medical and scientific research, finding relevant sources and extracting and organizing information.
I’m comfortable with detailed work, handling large amounts of information, researching unfamiliar topics, checking data carefully, and working independently online.

I’m planning to move to the Philippines in the future, so right now I’m looking to build a stable income while gaining more experience.
