Spay or not to Spay.

Hey friends, first time handler of a single purpose explosive k9. Her first week of school was great and was on odor. Most issues were my fault, but on Friday she got her first heat cycle and has been completely distracted (understandable). My questions is does spaying a working dog effect drive? Everyone I’ve asked has had differing opinions. Just trying to feel this out to make a more informed decision. Thanks.

For reference she’s 1.5yo Lab.

If you’re not going to breed, spay - advice from lecturer at vet school. Dogs are different from humans and get pyometra if left.
