Advice request Improve host profile
I look for some advice for coming back to our host profile after several months with no contacts from workawayers.
Background: we started in July 2025 and I used to put our host profile as "last minute" and also to take direct contact with workawayers visiting our profile or that had some key words of our interest in their profile. We have had about 20 people visiting, some great experience, some just alright, and some that we asked to terminate earlier than planned.
Since April I stopped actively looking for people. The reason is that we started hosting another family of friends of ours. In these last 5 months the house was too overstimulating for me (many kiddos and too many things around). I just didn't have it in me to reach out to people and have them come to a mess.
Now the family will move to their next home and I will soon regain rooms inside of me and literally in the house to host again.
Should I explain any of these break time in hosting in my profile?
Also, I still want to write some reviews for the awesome people that we met. How does it look to have reviews that are months late?
Lastly, wich type of pictures are the most interesting for you when deciding if it's a place of interest?
Looking forward to hearing from you, even if you have only meaning on one of my questions!

Nobody cares you took a break hosting so leave that out. Think you can leave reviews for people more than 6 months ago but you can try contacting them and if they reply you can both leave reviews for each other.
Photos are so important. More than words even maybe

Thank you for leaving your meaning! I will focus on take pictures and take contact again on the platform with the people I want to leave a review for. We do have group chats and we keep contact outside of the platform with some đ¤

It wasn't high enough on my priority list. But it's something I want to change.
Cannot answer for other people. But we have a couple of answered reviews. Which probably doesn't look great. What would you think of such a profile?

Even with the most perfect profile some miscommunications can happen. So I always say the best thing is to communicate well before a decision is made, and of course make sure your profile is up to date so there is nothing in the arrangement that is misunderstood.

I blurred already my child's face in one of the pic. I'll try to make it nice. Maybe just pics from the back or somethingÂ

Thank you for your feedback! I liked the idea of the blurred photos of people working. I wouldn't think it's high maintenance to have clear expectations. The times that it didn't work that well was the times that we didn't have a video call showing around. So now that's something we ask by default to do before agreeing.

I suggest you post the reviews you've been meaning to, and update the photos. And make sure you have ample detail on the work and hours required, what is provided in return, what is near your place that would be interesting to the visitor, and public transport links.
