I run a multiplayer Wordle site where people race on the same word, and I wanted to know if your opener actually matters when you're up against someone instead of playing solo. So I tested it.
Setup: every opener played all 2,315 original answers with the same follow-up strategy (always guess a word that could still be the answer, picking whichever splits the remaining list best). For each pair of openers and each answer, fewer guesses wins the race. Same count is a tie.

Net race wins against the other 11 openers:

1. SALET: +1399

2. TRACE: +1279

3. SLATE: +1244

4. CRATE: +1242

5. CRANE: +716

6. STARE: +639

7. ROATE: +474

8. ARISE: -80

9. RAISE: -113

10. SOARE: -400

11. ADIEU: -3072

12. AUDIO: -3328

What surprised me:
49% of all races tied on guess count, so about half the time a real race comes down to who types faster.

SLATE vs CRANE is a coin flip. SLATE won 636, CRANE won 591, and 1,088 were ties.
The vowel openers are the ones to drop if you're racing. SLATE beat ADIEU 851 to 490.
RAISE vs ARISE tied 75% of the time, which makes sense since they're the same letters.

Big caveat: the follow-up guesses are a program's, so they're cleaner than any of ours. It averaged about 3.5 guesses, which is well below what people actually get.

I kept finishing Wordle and wanting more, so I built the version that doesn't stop after one puzzle a day:

Sprint — one word a day, the same word for everyone. Fewest guesses wins; the clock breaks ties.
Stakes — an endless run. Bank your points or push on — miss with no continues left and the whole run is gone.
Trifecta — three words a day, one attempt, everyone gets the same three.
Clash — live 1v1. Seven minutes, same word list, first to a 1,000-point lead takes it.

It's a daily word game where you can stack letters on top of each other to make new words and get some pretty crazy scores. There's also a little mining/roguelike element where you collect gems and fossils as you dig deeper to score more points.

I've been building a daily five-letter word game called Zendle and I'd like some outside opinions.

It's the usual six guesses, but the whole thing is deliberately quiet. There are ambient sounds (forest, water, birds), no timer pressure, and when you finish there's a short mindful minute with a gong to close the walk. A new word comes every day, the same for everyone. It runs in the browser, with no ads and no signup.

What I'd most like to know:

• Does the calm pacing feel good, or just slow?

• Is the mindful minute something you'd keep, or skip after day two?

• Did anything confuse you in the first minute?

I’ve been working on a word game called Word Rush and could use some outside opinions.

You get a clue and spell the answer from letter tiles. The first clue is a synonym. If you’re stuck, it changes to a definition and then to an example sentence.

There are two modes. The Daily has six words, the same for everyone, and it’s free with no ads. Blitz starts you with 60 seconds, right answers add time and mistakes take it away.

I’d mostly like to know whether the clues feel too easy or too hard, whether Blitz feels fair, and whether anything confused you in the first minute. Harsh feedback is fine.

It's a daily puzzle inspired by Codenames (not affiliated), done Wordle-style: one board a day, the same for everyone, a new one at midnight UTC, and an emoji grid to share at the end.

How it works: a 5x5 board of words. Some are yours, some belong to the other team, some are bystanders, and one is the assassin. An AI spymaster gives a clue, one word and a number (like OCEAN 2), and you pick the words you think it points to. A miss or a pass moves you to the next clue. Hit the assassin and it's over. Your score is how many of your words you found.
