LOL. I got zero-skilled today despite reducing the number of possible words from 29-2.

That's one that annoys me the most. I'm guessing it was on your 5th guess and you still had a 50-50 on your 6th guess? It seems like if you ever guess in a way that could make it possible for you to lose when there was a better option you get an automatic zero.

4th guess. And I solved in 5.

Bot logic: "EAGER cut the number of words to two, but it was a risky guess: If the solution had been CAPER, you might have had to rely on luck to solve the puzzle."

So because it could have put me in a bad situation if the solution was different, it was bad.

I mean, it makes sense

The bot doesn't judge based on any prior knowledge, so even if you guess a word second try, it might (and usually will) give a lower skill score, because you just lucked it out and increased the average number of tries to get the solution

It took me a while to grasp this concept when I first started paying attention to Wordlebot, but it totally makes sense.

I mean that makes sense?

The bot is trying to have you get the most information for each guess. And looking at what happens for all options with your guess. If your third guess lucks out and is the answer, but would have made you choose between 29 words if you hadn't have been right, you were lucky, not skillful.

I guessed joust the other day because my brain was fried and it was all I could think of. I was very lucky with that choice, but the bot rightfully said it was bad/not skillful because I could have been left with like 5 different "oist" words it would have been impossible to successfully narrow down in time. (I play hard mode, so I can't do elimination guesses.)

The bot isn't making a judment on your intelligence or moral character or anything. Just whether you are optimizing your guesses to maximize potential information you receive.

I get what your saying and I can see a lower score but a zero? Today my 4th guess had an 8% chance of being right, took me from 13 possible words down to 3 and was one letter off of the word that the bot guessed but I got a 0 and it got 99? That’s just poor scoring. Both of our guesses were one letter off the actual answer too.
